The amount of ignorant Americans never ceases to amaze me.
There are also plenty of men that support Palin because she is "hot."

Middle America. It's disgusting.

There's ignorance all over America, in every state, not just "Middle America."
Yes I am aware. I was just being stereotypical. It was stupid, I do know that.

I was waiting for a friend who I was meeting for dinner outside The Lyceum tonight and watched two tourists approach the closing notice posted on the door.
Tourist # 1: Oh look... the show that was playing here closed. How sad!
Tourist # 2: Well it must have been pretty bad. [title of show]? They couldn't even remember the name long enough to put it on the closing notice!
Tourist #1: What a shame. Now hurry up, honey. A TALE OF TWO CITIES starts in ten minutes!
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Is this a thread to make fun of out of towners who aren't as savvy about theater as you think you are?
"is vicariously run by these people"
can you explain this phrase please?

Posted: 10/19/08 at 9:55pmMany years ago I was at Tyne Daley's GYPSY when the overture started and the two matronly ladies beside me continued to chatter. I reminded them that the performance had begun and one of them responded, "No it hasn't. They're just playing music."

Personally the Overture is one of the best parts about Gypsy.

Dolly, that was mean but oh so funny.
I took one of my best friends to see IN THE HEIGHTS, and she told me that she knew for sure the actors weren't singing live and that the headshots of the cast members on the playbill were of completely different actors.
Another one of my best friends thought Broadway was a big theatre (not the Broadway Theatre but Broadway in general) until I explained to her what it was, this was about a year ago.

ray-andallthatjazz86, I remember striking up a conversation with a young girl waiting for the Wicked lotto to draw names. She was a flight attendant for El Al and was asking me if I knew Broadway shows really well and asked for suggestions of things to see if she lost. She told me that she had never been to Times Square before and she too thought that Broadway shows were in one major building.
I remember hearing at intermission of In The Heights that someone said that Cats and A Chorus Line are pretty much the same show. The characters come up tell their story and dance.
Say what you want when it comes to mocking me. I am the kind of person that could care less about what people think about them. I think for the people mocking me it says something negative about them by them doing so.
