A Sony Broadway Cd reissue of a 1958 Lp by Lehman Engle conducting overtures form 12 Broadway shows is called ANOTHER OPENING ANOTHER SHOW.
The original Lp had the first complete recordings of Overtures from CALL ME MADAM, CAN CAN, KISS ME KATE, BLOOMER GIRL, and ON THE TOWN along with WONDERFUL TOWN, FINIAN'S RAINBOW, SILK STOCKINGS, BELLS ARE RINGING and GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES. The original Lp was in mono but the sessions were done in stereo and the Cd marks the first stereo release of these tracks plus two Bonus tracks: Overtures from LI'L ABNER and GOLDILOCKS.
JAY has two Cd's filled with Jule Styne Overtures.
On Philips John Mauceri conducts Overtures to all the Rodgers and n Hammerstein shows.
No one has ever done a collection of Sondheim Overtures, but the EMI Cd called SYMPHONIC SONDHEIM offers instrumental versions of several Sondheim songs.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Another Open' Another Show is a great one.
I made one myself that had all of my favorite show openings.
