So clear you can even see the musicians. From the photo call before opening night.

The book is worth several hundred and there are numerous copies around. The limited-edition dust jacket, sold only in New York, is worth many thousands and is incredibly rare.

Fantastic photos!
The stage floor looks beaten to death and badly in need of being replaced.

Beaten to death by Gene Kelly. Think about that.
Oh, and when Kelly left the show he was replaced by a guy named - honest-to-God - Georgie Tapps.
Here's a picture of Georgie Tapps chatting up Oona O'neill, Charlie Chaplin's future daughter (I stand corrected.)

Posted: 12/23/08 at 11:55pmThanks for posting these! I was watching Anatomy of a Dancer the other day, and the pieces of footage they showed in the documentary were amazing. The performers (especially Gene Kelly) were flawless.

The attention to detail was amazing. Notice the painting of the guy in a tuxedo is holding a 3d rose.
