I am intrigued by the costumes all in the same colors and the amount of light the orchestra is pumping out. Such a simpler time...

The book is worth several hundred and there are numerous copies around. The limited-edition dust jacket, sold only in New York, is worth many thousands and is incredibly rare.

Oh, and when Kelly left the show he was replaced by a guy named - honest-to-God - Georgie Tapps.

Thanks for posting these! I was watching Anatomy of a Dancer the other day, and the pieces of footage they showed in the documentary were amazing. The performers (especially Gene Kelly) were flawless.
