They LEARNED! They LEARNED from the bad bad Spring Awakening recording!
Good choice to record it live.

Its not the performance in full. Its being recorded with the company on stage without costumes, lighting etc.

How do I get tix for this? I hope they are not sold out already. I called Telecharge and they knew nothing about this. Do I have to buy them at the theater on that day, or how does it work? Is it assign seating or general Admission? If I have to go to the theater on that day and get them what time do u suggest getting there I would need 4 tix?
I'm sooo excited they are doing this
I doubt it'll sell out, you can probably just show up (get there early for good seats).
It may not be as exciting as a normal show, since they may need to rerecord parts, some of the dialog won't occur, etc. Just be prepared.
I'm glad they're recording it. I personally found it just OK, and don't really see what everyone loves about it (and am not willing to spend $25 and an evening to find out), but if this recording comes out I'm certainly willing to give it a listen.
Is is that hard to read the press release about this? Go to the website and sign up for the newsletter. The information for the recording session will be sent out to the people that are signed up. It will cost a $20 donation to BC/EFA to attend.

"Fans of PASSING STRANGE who wish to attend the live recording session at the Belasco Theatre on Monday, April 14 should go to www.passingstrangeonbroadway.com and sign up for the PASSING STRANGE newsletter. Special information regarding admission to the live recording session will then be emailed to those who receive the newsletter. Admission will be a $20 cash donation at the door to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, now in the midst of its annual spring fundraising drive." -All About Jazz
"The cast, band and creators of the musical will record the songs in a bare-bones recording session -- no lights, no set, no costumes, no scenes from the play." -TheaterMania
Most likely they are not filling the whole theatre so the tickets will be limited. Also, I'm under the impression that they will be presenting it as more of a concert of the songs, with limited dialog so don't expect to see the Broadway show sans costumes.
I'm SO happy that they're doing a live recording. It wouldn't be the same without the rougher live sound.
