Oh, Miss Chacon -- I guess the Puerto Rican sun has kept you out of the loop.
PBS hasn't aired the 'first awards' in almost a decade and has NEVER aired any 'Live from the Red Carpet' event. The closest to a national broadcast of the Tony Awards red carpet arrivals was on the TV GUIDE channel a few years ago and apparently didn't have any viewers, hence why it was never repeated again.
Thankfully, this new thing called the internet is making it accessible to everyone because unless you live in the New York area, you ain't seein' no red carpet bit.

Gracias papi. Some queen in the Liza mailing list said she was participating in the pbs portion of the evening. Hence the confusion. According to her site however.. she will be in the CBS telecast.
