I can't believe no one else has suggested this yet, but how about Kristin Chenowith? If the role is to be played by a woman, it helps if she is petite, and she certainly meets that criteria.

I had no idea Bryce was Ron's daughter.

PETER PAN, with Jeremy Sumpter, is one of my all time favorites.

Do you think this new musical will be more sexual?

HAHA! at Cheno. No effing way. Ever. Not even Tink.

haha. It's been a while. I don't remember any lesbian gazing scenes.

Has anyone seen Mary's statue in her hometown?

(I believe they have a statue of her. Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I'm not saying a boy wouldn't be believable in general. I'm saying the score wouldn't fit a boy singing it. It's not a style a boy would sing - at least not Peter Pan. It's complicated...I'm not elaborating cause it'd take too long and I don't have the time..

There's an idea! Change Peter Pans gender to a woman!!! That would solve everything!!! lol

Or maybe Michale Jackson as Peter would be good.....not!

What do you think about Michale Mcgrath as Smee?

Michale is Patsy in Spamalot.

I've heard the recording, and I love the movie, but I've never seen the show.

The recording, in my umble opinion, is pretty effing annoying.

I have pictures of the Mary Martin statue, but I've never been. If I go, it'd just be for the statue. Isn't that sad?

I've always been weirded out by Mary Martin. I hope they cast a male in this. I wonder if Jacko's calendar is free? If they do stick to a girl, it will be Haily Duff or one of those Amanda Byne types.

If this is anything like the other garbage ABC has given us, no one will watch and it just do a disservice to movie musicals. What really sucks is television is the only place they can be produced anymore.

re: PETER PAN flies again as television musical.

I am all for Bryce Dallas Howard as Peter. I think she'd be awesome. As for Hook, even Cerveris could play the role (he's so over-the-top already, anyway)...but I'd rather see someone else. How about Rupert Everett?
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

No. I can't see him in the role......my #1 vote is for Tim Curry!

Peter Pan: Cathy Rigby (She's just so perfect in the role!!)

Captain Hook: Tim Curry

Smee: Michale Mcgrath ( I just thought of something! Tim and Michale together again!!!)

I hope they do some color-blind casting. I know that a large number of people on this board hate the idea of talented people of color playing roles traditionally cast with European-Americans, but I'm not one of them.

I'd love to see latino, black, or asian Peter. I'd love to see it cast with a young male as well.

re: PETER PAN flies again as television musical.

I have waited a LONG LONG time for this, as has CapnHook! Peter Pan was my first show as a child and I have never looked back. Seeing cathy's final NYC perfomance last winter came full circle for me, as I am now in NYC persuing the dream that seeing tehs how for the first time gave me. I bawled like a little baby.

My hopes for this are high and my opinions are strong. Strip away the decades of camp and cheese and panto tradition. return to the Barrie intent and give this an edge. I hope they don't mean LITERAL modernization.. I hope they were more refering to giving the score a fresher sound and giving the show better structure.

Peter needs to be played by a male.. teens-early 20s. Go with an unknown for the role.. me, Vince Rimoldi or Michael Longoria perhaps. re: PETER PAN flies again as television musical. NO Tights! No little boy runs away from home and kills pirates and indians and wears tights.

Tim Curry or Hugh jackman as Captain Hook.

JESSICA GROVE as Wendy.

My mind is reeling. When are these auditions? I will be there with bells and harness on...

Paul Rubin needs to do this.... he can fly Peter like no one's business.

re: PETER PAN flies again as television musical.

They'll get a bigger name for Peter than Cathy Rigby. Don't get me wrong, Rigby is WONDERFUL in the role, and my favorite Peter, but she's already done a perfectly delgihtful TV Version of this show. Plus, she's probably too old to do it on screen now.

This is ABC/Disney...which means they'll use "in house" talent. Get ready for...

Zac Efron as Peter
Raven Simone as Wendy
Cole and Dylan Sprouse as Michael and John

What's scary is I'm only half kidding...
