HAHAHA. Awesome.
Someone knows what they're doing. It looks just like the actual show.
I want to see more from this miniature Phantom stage.
You'll knock your eye out, kid!
Now THAT'S the kind of dedication I like to see!
the comments are great; "the chandalier wouldn't fit in my bedroom! must be an american thing to have money"

The replica of the stage looks like one of those Carlton card Christmas ornaments they used to sell. Awesome chandelier, though.
that is AWESOME!. hahaha.
Haha, I used to have a miniature stage in my closet! I did tons of shows, since I loved Broadway and didn't really have any social activites, haha. But it was pretty cool, complete with a fly system and dimmers... Such a cool kid, haha!

I built a miniature stage when I was a kid, too, but not that good. I was just recently telling a fellow Phantom stage manager how I made a video of the journey scene in Phantom when I was about 13, with stop-motion cardboard figures and candelabras and stuff (and cotton balls for the fog), with the original cast recording dubbed over it. My friend thought that was absolutely insane. People back then did, too, but I don't think it was that insane in hindsight. I wanted to call the show, and I started learning the only way I could. When I watch the scene come together on the monitor it looks eerily similar to the view through my camcorder when I was trying to create it in my bedroom. It's much easier in full scale, though!
I'm not going to say this isn't a sign of someone a little crazy, or with a lot of time on their hands, or with no friends. But from my experience I see a clear through-line from creating a scene in a bedroom to creating it on a Broadway stage, so I will never say it's a waste of time.
Whoever did this video did a great job with the realism. The proscenium looks great -- if it wasn't for the fact that the wrong set is on the stage, I'd have had to look closer to make sure it wasn't a grainy bootleg of an actual show!
there were these videos on youtube, i can't find them, and someone did the nicest kids in town and good morning baltimore using legos! it was hilarious!
nice. his is almost as nice as mine. only goes to show what people can do with time on their hands (and insane obsessions)
Justin D., Wow! That is awesome.
