From a Playbill.com article:
"The climactic Springtime for Hitler scene from the still-in-production film version of "The Producers" has been shot, complete with specially printed vintage-style Playbills for the audience members."
I love those photos. Wish I had the funds to be there that day...but unless I was going to be on stage with the cast I wasn't up to shelling out that dough. It definitely looks like it's going to be a fun show. The link to the whole article is below.

Posted: 3/22/05 at 2:41pmYeah, the color logo for Springtime for Hitler should be in black and white. Logos were not in color on the covers of Playbills from the 1950s, when the musical is set. Yeah, I know, I'm hopeless.

Who knows? Perhaps the scene is being shot in black and white. Although I can't think of a reason why...it MEL BROOKS for goodness sakes...I couldn't try to assume why he does things...that's how he is. I doubt it's being shot like that, though.
LOL

It may not be historically correct, but it sure looks great...
Can't wait for this one!

It's probably because they wanted it to look ridiculous, which it does. In a funny way, I mean.

I'm pretty sure they are in color, because from an art direction standpoint, its going to look a lot better and will be a lot more noticable on film.
I'm sure they aren't historically accurate, but hey - Hollywood License!

It was filmed at the St. James (correct me if I'm wrong) last Monday when the theater was dark anyway. I too would've loved to have gone if I had the money. Great photos - I am so excited for this film!

I believe the very minimum was $250 if you were a government worker or something special - and then for the normal joe's it was something like $450-500 a person and went up from there.

Posted: 3/22/05 at 5:27pmI believe the closer to the stage yo uwere (closer to the cameras), the more it was. it ranged into a maximum of somewhere in the thousands I believe. Don't take what I say as fact, my memory is a little blurry on this.

Posted: 3/22/05 at 5:39pmI wonder if the audience members got to keep those playbills. Those will be huge collector's items if the movie is a hit, which I'm sure it will be. I'll be checking ebay...LOL.

Posted: 3/22/05 at 8:02pmHmm, did anyone on the boards actually do this? That would be an interesting story to tell if you have! I haven't seen any threads...then again, I've been doing the skim thing lately due to ODing in school work....geh...and I don't even have Spring Break to look forward to anymore. LOL~
