PIRATE QUEEN CASTCOM NY: 3/2 NEW TRIVIA CONTEST ANNOUNCED
re: PIRATE QUEEN CASTCOM NY: UPDATED 1/26#25
Posted: 2/1/07 at 1:13pmthese castcoms are so incredibly boring! why can't they just SHOW us some friggin rehearsal footage?? I dont understand the point of this marketing ploy. I don't really care about hearing the same verbal ass-kissing self congratulations from a different chorus member each day. I want to SEE what is going on. Isn't that what will sell tickets?? I don't see how these interviews are helping them at all.

I'll take and be happy with whatever they have to show us. However, I hope they read this and take some of your comments as suggestions. I'd love to see actual rehearsal footage as well but I suppose it might be tricky to do without interfering.
Until tomorrow ... :)

Very sweet castcom by Jerad Bortz. If only all those years staring at the Dreamgirls cassette tape would have lead to me playing Effie in the movie. I've always thought it would be fascinating to see a middle aged white man's approach to the role. lol
Steph looks great. I'm glad to hear she's happy with the new song. I wanna hear it!

New one up today -- Marcus Chait in his dressing room, and there is a snippit of one of his songs taped during the Chicago run I think.

Today's castcom is nothing new, BUT... if you wait till the end and press "yesterdays castcom" there is a hidden castcom that reveals a big change in the show!
HAPPY WATCHING!

Popular- You are fantastic for finding that! Not only is there a hidden CASTCOM for the 24th but there is one for the 23rd as well! If you wait till the end of the video "Yesterday's CASTCOM" will appear. Click on the link and it will take you to a castcom you've yet to see. The hidden castcom on the 23rd is all about the upcoming documentary. Cool news: The documentary will be hosted by Gabriel Bryne from Broadway's A Touch of the Poet. I have seen him in a few movies as well. I think it's great that he is taking part in this.
The last CASTCOM up is kind of a bloopers reel. Very funny clips of the leads being silly. I especially loved Linda's new ottoman! Too funny! And could Hadley Frasier be any more charming?

Well someone who posts on the PQ boards appears to be in charge of the castcoms. They posted to make sure to comment on the one today so people picked up on it and posted about finding it there. I'm just passing it on to this board.
YOU are fantastic for going back and finding the other hidden one.
I think it'll be cool to show Donal's dad - it will give us more insight into who he is and why he does what he does.

Donal's dad!? crazy...
that explains a little, I was looking at the cast on the updated website and noticed quite a few people who I don't remember from Chicago.
THANKS FOR THESE!!

I agree. I think it will be great to see Donal's father! I loved seeing him try on the different wigs. The Thor look made me laugh a little bit but it still looked pretty cool. I liked the last wig the best. It's awesome to see this footage of Paul Huntley. If you know anything about wigs, he is a living legend. Personally I think he deserves a Tony Award for lifetime achievement since they don't recognize his work in any current categories.
Popular- Do you have tkts to the show yet?

Really, Steph? I think a lot of them just have new headshots. The only new people I see are the boys playing Eoin and one man whose name I wont mention in case he was in Chicago, I'd be totally embarassed for not remembering. But the guy playing Donal's dad was in Chicago.
danhattan - no I don't. I live in CA so it's hard to know when I can get to NY. I've been trying to go once a year, so I'm shooting for June at this moment.

It's the same cast. I looked at the Chicago playbill and they were all involved. But you're right about the young boys. Both Eoin's have been replaced but I'm sure that's just because the kids were local.
Are you guys blown away by the new website too? I keep going back and wathing all the extra video's. I MAY have to get a ring tome once they get that set up! ha ha

Oh, I am SO getting ring tones when they are up!! or phone wallpapers or whatever...
I already have a Pirate Queen wallpaper on my computer...lol
I discovered it last night, and I was really tired, but I couldn't help exploring it for about 45 minutes!!

Thanks for the tip
I have "cookies" issues, so I wasn't able to see it at first, but I finally found a way. It's all really interesting, and I'm SOOOOOO looking forward to seeing the show in two weeks!!!!!!!
I wonder why they're putting that documentary on the Long Island PBS station instead of Channel 13? I would have thought WNET would reach a larger audience.

I have a question for those of you who've seen PQ in Chicago and plan to see it again in NY. Do you want spoilers about the changes they've made to the show, or would you rather be surprised? It sounds like Castcom is giving away a lot of juicy tidbits. I'm hoping to get into NY and see the show sometime before it opens, and personally I'm interested to find out about what they've changed and don't mind having things spoiled.
I still think they should have released a well produced video of "Woman", but hopefully I'll get to hear it in its entirety soon.

I don't mind hearing about spoilers either (especially since I'm not seeing it anytime soon) but I DO think it would be kind for us to hold off on posting anything that hasn't officially been announced until after the show starts previews. Even at that point it'll be going through changes and I am fascinated to hear as much of it as I can.
After March 6th it's fair game to post about - those that don't want to hear spoilers may want to stay away from the boards.
