Swenson addresses the people who were upset about his "Works well with gays" comment in NEXT Magazine this week:
NEXT highlighted the fact that Swenson has "a very interesting skill listed on his resume. "Works well with gays," it describes the glossy magazine in the HAIR feature.
"I just thought it was funny, as do all of my gay friends, though it raised a ruckus with a few people with no sense of humor," joked the married (to a woman) actor to NEXT, adding that gay people aren't any harder to work with than others, and that his best friend is gay. It's a skill that comes in handy since he's sharing the stage each night with the glorious Gavin Creel, who plays hippie-turned-soldier Claude", explains NEXT.

"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."
