It had a nice run, and won several Tony's. I'd hardly call it a failure.

And as someone who went into it expecting and WANTING to hate it, it has quickly become my favorite production playing right now.

So I betcha that the show coming to the Rodgers is...

Into the Woods!

Reasoning being that if the actors really are contracted for only twenty weeks... then it makes sense to evict Porgy one week early, since time will be of the essence in earning maximum $$ for a limited run of ITW.

Now we know... it's Lewis Black!... for one week... ???

They dropped a week of PORGY AND BESS for one week of Lewis Black beginning October 9.

Does this clarify why PORGY couldn't have run until September 30? Is there more to the story? Suspicious minds want to know!
