This show Possibility Junkie is Incredible!!! There wasn't one single person in this cast that didn't belong!! Anyone who is musical, intelligent, smart, political and creative will love this show and that includes just about everyone I know!! David Ippolito is one of the most intelligent, well spoken, poignant thoughtful and insightful musician/songwriters I know....a "Genuine" artist of hope and possibility who walks the walk!! Jillian Louis is not only incredibly talented as an actress, dancer, musical theater afficiondo....she can sing her ass off...... and on top of that...is gorgeous..."ya just can't take your eyes off her"
Each cast member has amazing attributes from Joel H Jones (PERFECT in the role of Sean Kilroy) Rob Barnes (Outstanding) to Newcomer JC Hall (also Outstanding) The supporting cast especially Teresa Reynolds with her monster voice is always amazing as is Vanessa Theus!! So....... we have an amazing crew here...but every crew needs a Captain...and the brilliant Director Gretchen Cryer is superb...she pulls it all together in a fast, tightly woven symmetry that makes an hour and 45 minutes go by in 20! Bravo Gretchen and Bravo Cast members! GO SEE THIS SHOW!!.. Andrew G Kent #PossibilityJunkie

Yeah, now that I've given that some thought, taz, you're right.
I also threw out all my recordings of PACIFIC OVERTURES and ordered that Frank Wildhorn collection I've been putting off getting.
Some big things are coming my way!

The show ran a bit long at 2 hours 30 minutes, but overall I found this a heartwarming show and a fun night out. It was great to see The Guitar Man singing all his songs in person, and the guy who played the evil host from Fax News was very talented as well. It's a fun off-off-Broadway show. The first act felt a little long and everything wrapped up a bit too quickly in Act II, but the show's heart is in the right place and the songs and plot are a lot of fun. I would certainly recommend this show (along with the new Saved by the Bell off-off-Broadway musical playing a block away.)
One major annoyance though: The Theater for the New City has a terrible habit of starting shows WAY late. The performance I attended started 17 minutes late, which is really disrespectful of the audience's time. This happens over and over at that theater, no matter what show I see there.

Possibility Junkie” , a new musical is beginning the third week of its run at The Theater for the New City. If you haven’t seen it, go see it and if you’ve already seen it, see it again. It’s that good! David Ippolito, the legendary That Guitarman From Central Park, takes his music and commentary from Central Park to the stage with an original, thought provoking, contemporary script centered on how the news is reported and the themes of ambition, romance, betrayal and hope. At the outset, Ippololito hooks the audience and reels them in with “Hey Now, Right Now” and has them singing and laughing with “Kilroy Scares Me.” Jillian Louis and Joel Hurt Jones take over with a riveting delivery of “Workin’ It Right” and Rob Barnes demonstrates the power of his vocals in “Where’s the Voice.” When individual cast members step up with a contribution to “There Will Always Be People”, regulars on The Hill will quickly recognize the energy and passion of Teresa Reynolds and will be introduced to the talents of newcomers JC Hall and Vanessa Theus. In Act II Mr. Hall captivates the audience with his gritty mix of of vocals and beat in his original rap compositions. The choreography by David Eggers which has Ippolito executing the smooth moves that made him a scoring threat on the hardwood shines through in “The Perfect Girl For Me” where Teresa, Jillian and Vanessa slither and strut like divas. Music Director Mike Murray assembled and leads a talented group of musicians and a not to be missed moment occurs when Ippolito jams with the band’s bass player Lavando Thomas.
And the whole production takes place against the multimedia background masterfully created by Dean Love which magically transports the audience from diverse locations like a rainy day in Central Park to Washington Square Park and the Civil Rights protests.
By the time the show ends with the sunny optimism of “Keep Hope Alive” and “Any Other Way” and you’re walking down 1st Avenue humming your favorite tunes you’ll really appreciate the directing skills of Gretchen Cryer who made this whole thing possible.
Make sure you catch it while you can in this intimate space because Jillian isn’t the only one who has legs, the whole show does! #PossibilityJunkie
