OK, I know the movie opens DEC. 22, in select cities. But, as fate would have it, I am not in a selected city.
PLEASE someone tell me that it WILL be released NATIONWIDE after the select cities run? right?
Does anyone know if this will happen and when it will open in all the other crummy cities???
THANKS!
Oh yeah! It goes nation wide in January

Well, yeah, I could drive to a select city, but the nearest one is two hours away. NOT that I hadn't thought of that, though!

GOD! Why is it always the musicals that open in select cities. I really dont understand it. This happened with Chicago, as well as De-Lovely. Now its happening with Phantom. I just really dont get it. Does sombody know why they do this? Is it a law?
I think they do it to get "word of mouth" started so it can have a box office success once it goes nation wide.

Well yah, but why is it ONLY the musicals. I dont remeber any other major studio motion picture that didnt open nation wide initialy.
If you look at yahoo movies there are a good bit of movies that open in select cities. I think they do this with musicals because it was a dead genre for so long and it is just getting back on it's feet. Once there are more movie musicals I don't think it will be like this.

Oh wait. The theater that's getting it is digusting. Shoot.
Hopefully what's on screen can keep my mind off of other things.
for the select cities *happy to have 2 or 3 nearby* does anyone know when/if they are doing ticket pre-sales?
Check Fandango next week.

I think I might go up to Cleveland with some friends and see it over Christmas break.
