re: PQ Closing - Need help with another show - Xanadu?

That's a great idea ! I actually revisited " AVENUE Q " again last October on my birthday... and Howie is sooo cute !!! that scene with a puppet having s*x is something else, specially if you look at Howie's facial expression during that scene
and he got these nice muscular arms on that tight black t-shirt ! oops .. enough ! (this is not so appropriate here ! this is gaycom. material)

BTW ****
When I went back to Boston--I recommended it to my gay friends along with GREY GARDENS of course. My friends Joe & Justin took my advice and went down to NYC to see Grey Gardens & Avenue Q . I asked them if they like the shows but they told me that they did not like Avenue Q ...and I replied to them..."Are you guys sure --that youre gays ? "

"Grey Gardens will be open because Ebersole is going to win the Tony, and hopefully, so is Mary Louise Wilson, who is also superb."

To the Grey Gardens lovers, do not hate me for saying this. Wilson and Ebersole might win the Tonys, but I have a feeling that this show isn't going to last over the summer even if they do win. It might boost grosses slightly for a short amount of time, but I don't think it will be enough to keep the show open. Have you seen the grosses the past few weeks? They've been pretty mediocre with maybe one or two okay weeks, and summer is when Broadway is at its peak. I'm not trying to wish bad for this show or anything, but it seems to be hidden under the hype of other shows.

I am a GG avid fan but I am not oblivious to the fact that its not doing great on the box office ..That's sad ! if Grey Gardens close- but I will see it again before it close (subjunctive mood, okay? ) Let's hope that never happens....

Yeah, even if they're selling tickets until Sept. 2nd, they could close earlier and refund those affected. I would suggest looking into other shows that have a better chance of being open until then in case you have to get your Grey Gardens tickets refunded.

Well I have already had to find replacements for both Coram Boy and Pirate Queen! If Grey Gardens closes before Labor Day, I will have had very bad luck. Does everyone here think Xanadu will last a while?

No one knows. Let's wait for the reviews --bec. sometimes the reviews could make or break it - Look what happened to High Fidelity, it got close after 2 weeks ..

Personally, if I were you I will see XANADU. I was supposed to see it last 5/27 but
it got cancelled, we came all the way for Boston for that- I was very disppointed but It did not detract me from buying another ticket for a later date. like I said on another thread I like Doug Beane and Mary Testa, so that's enough reason for me to see it......I like light comedy though ! i guess that's it...

It didn't officially open yet so maybe you want to wait until you are able to read reviews and look at grosses to have a better idea.

If Grey Gardens does close, perhaps you can just leave that slot open. Then once you go into the city, buy tickets to a show that fills that slot.
