PRISCILLA VS. CATCH ME

So I understand why Book of Mormon, Sister Act, and Scottsboro Boys were nominated for best musical, but why wasn't the fourth slot given to Priscilla? I saw both Priscilla and Catch Me If You Can, and Priscilla, IMO (and hundreds of other people's), is ten times better than Catch Me was. stagegrade.com also shares this opinion. Is anyone else upset by this? Catch Me If You Can is doing great at the b.o. because of this, and Priscilla deserves that nomination and subsequent b.o. boost. Priscilla is a blast, and totally self-aware. Catch Me tries sooo hard to be this great, memorable show and it falls so short.

was there another thread about this? i searched but the search option on BWW sucks.

While this is only my opinion, which I am entitled to, Priscilla is a piece of regurgitated crap. A jukebox musical that looks like a rainbow exploded on the stage. Too gaudy, too loud, playing to stereotypes. Catch Me is a flawed musical to be sure, but it is light years better than the piece of garbage playing at the Palace with a fun original score.

Priscilla had no original music. Catch Me had a brand new score...which carries a bit more weight with the Tony nominating committee.

If you're one of those 'tired businessmen' they're always referring to, then see Catch Me for the sexy women.

Personally, I preferred Priscilla with heart much more than the slick Catch Me, but then I grew up and loved the music used whereas the music and lyrics of Catch Me left me bored and uncaring.
