Is anyone else REALLY excited about the revival?

I'm thrilled. The design aspects of this show could turn out to be really gorgeous. And I absolutely can't wait to see "Please Hello" performed live. re: Pacific Overtures

I know!

'Please Hello' and 'Someone in a Tree' are both brillaint. The staging for both numbers should be astonishing!

And don't touch the coat. re: Pacific Overtures

I am extremely excited, and I know that Nugget is going to the 1st Preview. I'm going to try and get preview tickets so I can report back to BWW. re: Pacific Overtures

SticktoPriest, I couldn't stop laughing for two minutes when I read your quote. I think that might be my favorite line in the OBC. Too bad there's no way to indicate a heavy Russian accent on a message board. :)

If this production is as strong as the Japanese production by the same director, it might well be the musical theater event of the year. The Japanese production was the best thing I saw in 2002.

As nicely as the Japanese production was designed, nothing equals the original Tony winning designs by Boris Aronson for the first Broadway production. I've never seen a more beautiful show on Broadway.

joeyjoe and I are really looking forward to this also...I love the original. I was lucky enough to see the video of the Original at the Museum of Radio and Television, in black and white, and it was phenomenal.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Oooooh, yes i am REALLY (how do you make the text bigger?) excited!
And indeed, I am going to the first preview. If anyone else is going, tell me I would love to say HELLOOOO...
anywho, I cannot waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiit.
I couldn't find Mr. Sondheim at the 5th preview of Assassins I attended, but I am hoping to have better luck this time.
And seriously, I would faint if I even saw him in person.
AGH!
it's the day of the rat, my lord...

I know I say this about every show of his, but it is truly a tremendous artistic acheivment.

'Please Hello' is such a work of art by itself.

Well, though it is a great show, I wouldn't call FORUM an artistic acheivement, per se.

so excited! it's one of his finest works.
it's truly amazing that 2 brilliant Sondheim shows will be performed on Broadway in 1 calendar year

But I won't live alone in a house of regret.

Saw the original cast in previews, also saw the Japanese production at Lincoln Center, both were excellent. One of those times in the musical theater where I felt privilaged to be let in the door. Truely exciting theater.

Just my opinion, I may be wrong.

I am SO excited!!! I already have my tickets for December.

I saw the Donmar production a couple of summers ago and was blown away. It was also interesting to see how they had updated 'Next' from the OBC.

They updated "Next"? Well, I guess that would be easy enough, with the spoken parts at least...

Yeah, they just updated the spoken part in 'Next' past the '70's with things Japan has done since then: leaving out some lines such as that MSG comment and adding some such as their help post 9/11. It worked better emotionally than the dated statistics on the CD.

Not to be a big dork/jerk, but the Donmar production was Gary Griffin's version from the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre [which was GOREGOUS, by the by]. This one should be just as good!
