What if this show came to Broadway?
Who would you cast in the roles?
Um, BARBRA.
Yes, I agree. Barbra. But only if they lowered the whole score a fourth.
Seriously. She wasn't too old for it then, and she certanly isn't now!

I'm surprised they havent brought this on stage yet. It's such a great movie. But Barbra is too old now to do it.
God'll get you for that, MEF.

Hmmm... a musical in which only one of the characters sings... yeah - that'll work on Broadway!
Gee - a musical where a woman dresses as a man - that's never been done before!

they can always add new songs for the other characters, the score has to be original anyway.
Hmmmm.......maybe you can add NEW song for the characters that didn't sing..
Am I wrong, or was there a stage version of this a few years ago Off-Broadway?

Babs had anyone who was part of the off-Broadway stage version and anyone who remembered it killed. She didn't want anyone to know that anyone else played Yentl.

Before the film, YENTL, the non-muical play, played on Broadway, at the O'Neill Theatre, starring Tovah Feldshuh. This is back in the mid '70s.

Nelson did a great version on The Simpsons.
I don't like YENTYL. The movie bored me. Only part I enjoyed was "Papa, Can You Hear Me?"
