I actually think Ann sings wonderfully for the original "Annie" movie.

"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

I don't want to see Renee as Eileen. She looks the part, but she lacks the voice. Eileen is a soprano.

As for Ann, I have so much respect for that woman. After all, she is a legend.

I wonder how good her voice could have been were it not for smoking.

A little OT but I'd kill to see CZJ as Sally Bowles.

I saw Hugh Jackman in Beauty and the Beast here in Melbourne and he was great. I also saw him in Sunset Boulevard and his understudy, his understudy was better. I'd like to see him as Bobby in Company, but a new show would be preferable.

I think Renee would make an awesome Columbia in THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.

I'm going to go out on the obscure limb and say I'd like to see Hugh Jackman as Starbuck in '110 in the Shade'. Also, his Billy Bigelow was brilliant. Shame that concert wasn't recorded - it was a fantastic evening.

I think Hugh would be an amazing Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. You can tell by just watching him as Wolverine he would be perceft for Hyde. "The Confrontation" would rock!!! And we all know he is suave enough for Jekyll. And i know if we were to see him in this demanding role, we can get the image of David Hasslehoff(sp?)out of our heads! FINALLY!

Renee is a fantastic actress, one of my favorites, I also love her because she seems so down to earth....but she would never do a stage show. I am refering to the Oscar performance for 'Chicago' when Queen Latifah took her place. And no she did not back out because she is a bad performer it is because she just does not like performing on stage that is not where her knowledge lies so she used common sense and backed out. And by the way no one gets nominated for a horrible performance and plus every critic was saying it was either her or nicole so she must have done something right to get all of that attention........now that said I WOULD LOVE TO SEE CZJ ON BROADWAY!!!! SHE WOULD BE GREAT!

Shiksa do I hear revival? lol, Hugh would make a great J&H and maybe CZJ could play Lucy or something!

Newspaper here in Melbourne at the weekend suggested that Hugh Jackman would be singing I Still Call Australia Home at the Australian Football League Grand Final match this coming saturday (25th), complete with white piano etc.

That would be quite a homecoming for Hugh, Alterego. Please let us know if it actually happens.

Btw - I wouldn't mind seeing Hugh and Renee together in a non-musical movie.

I thought I read somewhere that Hugh was originally supposed to sing the anthem at the game but then canceled due to scheduling conflicts, and the winner from American Idol was going to sing it. I thought maybe that had to do with the fact that his wife is having her movie shown at the Jackson Hole Film Festival on Sept. 25 and they would be there. I also thought I read that Hugh's agent said his only public appearance was sometime in October at an event for a bone marrow charity.

Scheduling conflicts? Isn't the guy supposed to be taking a vacation? Geez, you'd think he'd rest up before filming a movie in which he plays three different people. re: Parts that Hugh and Renee are perfect for

Honestly...

I think they're both awful.

I didn't feel that Hugh Jackman deserved the Tony at all.

And Renee--well, perhaps she should stick to straight films.

--However, let's not forget, folks--this is merely my opinion and is not a personal attack on anyone posting on this thread--so don't get your panties in a wad!

Care to elaborate, thibodeaux? From your usrename, I can see we agree on some things, but when you just say that "so and so stinks" it sounds like you're trying to pick a fight.

This is just an absolute guess on my part, but maybe "scheduling conflicts" means he changed his plans because his wife's film is being shown on 9/25 and they are doing that instead. Like I said, it's all speculation since there seem to be conflicting stories. I guess we will find out one way or the other after 9/25 since I'm sure it will be reported somewhere whether he was singing in Australia or at the film festival in Wyoming.

I think Renee is a great actress, but I hope she'll never do another musical! I just hated her singing in "Chicago".
