Someone on ATC really enjoyed it.
And I, as always, am stuck on campus.

Posted: 10/21/04 at 12:39amI saw it, but I'm not yet ready to post a review; I need a little time to recover emotionally and gather my thoughts and I'm also a dizzy from the cast party, the wine. More later...

It was a very moving performance and I am very glad I was there. Marin Mazzie and Michael Cerveris sang and acted very well; she changed several outfits: a black satin long gown and later a red satin gown. She looked beautiful. Michael's singing and acting were excellent. He was intense. I especially liked the way he sang the last piece in the show, it was soft, thoughtful and philosophical, clearly showing how much he understood the way he changed. This is after the duel, when he reads Fosca's last letter and then she joins him.
Geminiani's conducting and the orchestra sounded very good and I heard much more detail and underscoring than on the CD.
Donna Murphy's performance was excellent, very moving, emotional, intense, even more so than before. Her voice, was good, even beautiful in the middle and lower range. She was careful with her top notes and got better and better towards the end. Needless to say, there was a standing ovation from the audience, and everyone went wild especially for Donna. She cried and laughed throughout her final bows and many of us there cried and laughed with her.

Thank you so much for your post! I was SO upset I couldn't be there, as Passion is my favorite musical and seeing it on stage would have been a dream come true...especially with Donna.
I hope they'll have pictures somewhere- did you see any being taken?
Thanks again.

Posted: 10/21/04 at 2:20amYes, I am sure there will be plenty of pictures. I saw professional cameras clicking at the stage door and at the cast party. I am sorry you could not go to this amazing performance, but lets hope this isn't the last one. It was quite obvious that Donna was recovering from vocal problems and so, all is well.

That's the best news I've heard in a while! :) I'm so glad Donna's better, I was really worried there for a while. I love her so much! :)
You're very lucky to have attended both the concert and the cast party- good for you!
Thanks again for the details- and now I can't wait for the pictures!

No...not me. I still haven't come to terms with her spotty attendance record.

Well, deal with it. We don't want to hear about it.
There are pictures up on Broadway.com and they are absolutely GORGEOUS. Donna Murphy looks absolutely amazing, and the picture of her at the curtain call is....so very touching. (She's crying). There are also some really nice pictures at Gettyimages.com

Posted: 10/21/04 at 5:23pmI couldn't find any curtain call photos from last night's Passion concert on Broadway.com or Getty Images, or anywhere else. Is there a specific URL address? I'd be very grateful to see it. Thank you, thank you!

Sorry it took me a while to answer- I wasn't home.
The Broadway.com pics are on the front page now, so I guess you've seen them.
As for Getty Images, go to Editorial pics and run a search for Donna Murphy or Passion. Good luck!

I went to the Passion Benefit Concert. It was ssssssssoooooo amazing. Donna Murphy was incredible. I have the DVD of Passion and watching that at home I cried, but seeing this was a whole other experience. Afterwards I waited to talk to Donna Murphy. She was soo nice and gracious. I have met her 2 or 3 times before that after seeing Wonderful Town. She's amazing.
Marin Mazzie was also very good, and Michael Cerveris was great, but I was disappointed that Jere Shea couldn't be apart of this.
BTW... I'm new, so Hi!
whoever you are that got to go to the cast party, lucky!
