re: Passion Benefit Concert, anyone?

Oct 21, 2004 — 5:23:22 PM

I couldn't find any curtain call photos from last night's Passion concert on Broadway.com or Getty Images, or anywhere else. Is there a specific URL address? I'd be very grateful to see it. Thank you, thank you!

Yes, I am sure there will be plenty of pictures. I saw professional cameras clicking at the stage door and at the cast party. I am sorry you could not go to this amazing performance, but lets hope this isn't the last one. It was quite obvious that Donna was recovering from vocal problems and so, all is well.

Please don't start the non-sense about Donna Murphy's "showing up" any more. I really hoped we're beyond that, no?

It was a very moving performance and I am very glad I was there. Marin Mazzie and Michael Cerveris sang and acted very well; she changed several outfits: a black satin long gown and later a red satin gown. She looked beautiful. Michael's singing and acting were excellent. He was intense. I especially liked the way he sang the last piece in the show, it was soft, thoughtful and philosophical, clearly showing how much he understood the way he changed. This is after the duel, when he reads Fosca...

I saw it, but I'm not yet ready to post a review; I need a little time to recover emotionally and gather my thoughts and I'm also a dizzy from the cast party, the wine. More later...

re: Chicago....Velma..elegance / Roxie ..charisma

I am very ashamed to admit I have not yet seen Chicago. But I will very soon! I noticed there are great ticket discounts, so this show is definitely on my list. CJR, you wrote earlier that the sound can be weird in the Ambassador in certain parts of the theatre where it dips in and out. Is this in the orchestra or mezzanine? Front, middle, or back? Thankx.

Mine is a photo of my favorite opera singer, Maria Callas, La Divina.

Sportsfan, than you so much for your review. Did they really do 40+ songs? I am going to see "Opening Doors" next week, on Oct. 5th and will post my review after the show.

I think Brooke has great courage to be in WT. She knows that her job is to attract more people to see the show so it doesn't shut down. Regardless of her singing and acting ability, she is realy taking on the role of a hero and she should be acknowledged just for that alone!

re: MARIN AND DONNA IN PASSION CONCERT!

Did this new information about the concert being a rumor come form the Telecharge staff? What about the staff from Friends In Deed? I think they're selling the VIP tickets and cast party?

re: very quick recovery for Donna Murphy

According to playbill.com, tickets for this 10th Anniversary Passion concert may be purchased by calling the Telecharge local phone number. I followed these instructions, called Telecharge to find out exctly where the less expensive seats were located and guess what? Telecharge does not have any information and is not selling any tickets to this event. They had no idea what Passion concert I was talking about. After that, I called the other number to see if they were still selling VIP tickets...

Lets just move on and give Donna another chance! How about that? Why not? Is anyone here going to see this concert on October 20th?

re: What would you like to see at Encores!

Sorry, I made a mistake before: "Mack & Mabel" starts at the Goodspeed Opera House on October 1st, not the PaperMill. Sorry again, I just checked it.
