Posted: 4/7/04 at 3:31pmI caught TSMrW on the TODAY show today. He was his usual, down-to-earth, charming self. Maybe he hasn't "gone Hollywood" after all! However, that new hairdo has to go.

Dollypop,
Was it sort of that cupie-doll look? I've seen it and from some angles it reminds me of that.

Posted: 4/7/04 at 10:07pmDid you see him on one of the programs this evening (I think it might have been Access Hollywood) and one of his co stars in "The Alamo" Jason Patric, was asked if there were any problems on the set and he said that there was a big problem with Patrick Wilson and all his women. When the interviewer asked PW about it, he said that (the actor whose name I didn't catch) the only problem was with him as he was the token woman on the set. PW didn't smile when he said this. OMIGOSH. I can't believe that little exchange. The guy must have really ticked Patrick off to get that kind of response.
Was it one of the principals that joked about Patrick? Perhaps the women on the set (crew and cast) didn't pay as much attention to him as they did our TSMrW.
And Patrick is very protective of his personal life and would prefer to stay well below the press' radar. Comments like this clearly make him uncomfortable.
Plus...from the way the extras talk it was pretty much a "guys" world on that set. A bunch of grown-up boys playing "Fort"/Army, LOL! (My brothers and their friends would do that all the time.)

Patrick can have all the women he wants and comb his hair anyway he pleases as long as he gets on the Broadway stage again.
Patrick has been on the Today Show at least three times at the end of the show yesterday, Katie Couric said "Nice to meet you" as though it was the first time he'd been there. I knew there was a reason I didn't care for her.
The Access Hollywood interview doesn't sound like TSMrW at all.

Posted: 4/8/04 at 2:12pmThe guy has the personality of a piece of dry toast. I've never understood him and/or his "fame" and never will. The *hair* should be referred to as, hair*plugs*. Maybe that's why people are always commenting on how strange it looks.

Al Dente, have you ever actually met and spoken with Patrick?
He seems very personable and lots of folks say he is quite charming.
And, as for the hair-plugs remark, didn't you also once describe him as looking like a balding 45-year old accountant. I'm figuring there's some long-standing grudge here...

You know what Beacon? Just because I don't follow the sheep on this board and adore Wilson, Chenoweth, Butler, or any of the others you're all so enamored with, does not mean there is any sort of "personal grudge". There are a handful of us posters here, who feel no pressure to be swayed by popular opinion. We're also not fooled by hype and/or, the press machine.
I saw Patrick Wilson long ago in a workshop called "Bright Lights, Big city", then soon after in "Fascinating Rhythm" and thought he was abyssmal in both (as did many critics). Somehow, through great handling, he managed to become more than a musical theater casualty. Doesn't mean he's great, or even good. Just means he had the right chain of events happen to him with the right people, at the right time.
Again, it doesn't mean I have to worship at the same altar that you do. And moreover, it doesn't mean I even KNOW the guy, if I did, I wouldn't be so crass, as to post about him. That's my own personal code of ethics. Last time I checked, this was a message board made up of strangers with opinions. If I had a personal grudge against anyone, I would be posting on *all that chat*. And he does look like a 45 year old balding accountant, hence...the plugs.
