he would be perfect as brick, im going to have to try to see the show. did you know that a streetcar named desire is also coming to washington this summer with patricia clarkson as blance- a lot of tennessee williams going on here latley, only to be expected considering that he was a genius

I just got an e-mail from a contact at the Actor's Fund in L.A.: He says that Patrick still is slated to do the Benefit Reading of "Sunset Boulevard" on April 4th. Apparently the film won't conflict with that event.

They'll be announcing the casting of the role of Betty pretty quick, too!

California fans...relish the moment! This could be the last chance to see him on stage for a while. www.actorsfund.org

I just got that email too. I know it shouldn't, but it made me really bitter. I've been so down all day... not even just that *I* won't be getting to see Patrick again, but that it seems, more than ever, like he's abandoning the stage for film.

*sigh*

i just remembered that i saw patrick in a national tour of "carousel" in baltimore a few years ago. he wasnt a name at all then, but he was really great. i had no idea what i was witnessing at the time, i figured he was just one more performer whose talents would get overlooked in the masses of competitors who frequent the R&H old school style productions. who'd a thought?
