I am trying to go see Patti LuPone for the fist time in a couple months and I've never been to New York or a concert or anything before... so I have a couple questions. Firstly I read somewhere that if you write ahead of time you might be able to go backstage and meet her, does anyone have anymore information on this? Also I've never stagedoored before and I was wondering where do I keep a windowcard that I want her to sign? (I have the Sweeney revival one with her and Micahel) Do I hold it throughout the performance? Also I hear she's sometimes selective about what she signs so how will I know if she'll sign it? Thanks!
Just keep it with you at your seat during the show. There's no way of knowing if she'll sign it until you actually present it to her to sign.
I saw her her in Carmel, IN 2 years ago and she signed everything that anyone presented to her. Including my Sweeney Windowcard and my OBC Evita Playbill. She did not allow pictures of any kind.
I think she is more suspicious of people who are at the stage door with old merch who may not have been to the show that night, but at a concert, that is less of a concern. I remember someone without any Women on the Verge stuff got quizzed what scene they liked best at the stage door, before she would start writing her name...
