Sam Gold's iffy track record gives me pause. When he's great, he's really great. When he misses, he misses hard. Not sure that he's the director that I would've tapped for this, but I remain optimistic. Curious to see who will be in the cast.

Tom Francis for Jerry? Yes, he's young, but by the time the show opens he'll only be a year younger than Patrick Wilson was when he did it. Plus, I think that Tom reads older than he is. He certainly did in Sunset Blvd.

Looking at the website, it says that the lowest-priced ticket is already sold out, and this “low-tier” ticket is already quite expensive in comparison to a regular ticket for the majority of shows. Since it’s a one-night-only event, the lottery will likely be very difficult to win, given that many people are going to be competing for the one and only chance to see this. I think that a 3 hour show vs. a 2:45 show, or a 2:45 show vs a 2:30 show, could absolutely be a dealbreaker for some folks. Especially for people who have kids to get home to, work in the morning, etc.

I would think that Donica and McClure will be still be attached at a minimum. The team seems to want to stick with Villafane as well, but in my opinion, she is the most replaceable.

I saw Paranormal Activity during its DC run. It has a few cool special effects but is not a good play. And this is coming from me, a horror fanatic who loves the Paranormal Activity movies. It will burn and die quickly on Broadway.

I liked If/Then a lot. I saw it on B’way with Idina then again on tour with Jackie. I think it’s an under-appreciated show. But a classic? That’s laughable. I know that my opinion is a minority one. It’s not beloved - as evidenced by the fact that it’s rarely, if ever produced.
