You want TV to be your swan song? Not Broadway? But aren’t you headed there in a new musical with Christine Ebersole?
Yes, War Paint. I’ve been with this show forever. It’ll be four years by the time it hits Broadway. The music and lyrics are by Scott Frankel and Michael Korie, the gentlemen who brought us Grey Gardens. Doug Wright wrote the book, which is based on the rivalry between Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden, two titans of the cosmetic industry. I love it a lot. We’ll see what happens.

Not a surprise, but anything can change. The rest of the interview is AMAZING. She is one of a kind.

I'm seeing it in August! I'm very excited. my guess is it will hit Broadway possibly next spring.

She means she's been with it for four years. So if Chicago goes well, next spring seems feasible.

I don't think she means it'll be 4 more years until it reaches Broadway. I think she means from the beginning of her involvement to the time it opens on Broadway will be around 4 years.

I think she likely means 4 years from her first involvement. I'd also note that "basically confirms" should be tempered by her "We'll see what happens," since she is not likely to self-produce.

Goodness, every time I THINK about this show I get excited. Are any other roles cast? I wish we knew more about the show.
