She certainly is a talented woman.

Patti Lupone IS amazing. I've only ever seen her perform live once, at that was when she sang Being Alive at Wall to Wall Sondheim. I can not wait for Sweeney Todd! I'm gonna be seeing it two weeks from tonight!!!!

I absolutely adore her. I last saw her in "Passion" at Lincoln Center (first row!) - she owned that role. She was just fantastic.
I also just got tickets to see Sweeny Todd. I'm excited beyond belief.

She is great! I saw her in "Matters of the Heart" here in Atlanta. I really hope I'll get to see her in Sweeney Todd as well.

And she is one of my very favorite people -- ever interesting, ever magnetic, ever unique, ever surprising. DO NOT MISS the chance to see her perform live. They really don't make 'em like Miss Patti anymore.

I like Patti too. Evita was my fave but I have always liked her. She just has "it" Have you ever checked out her website? I love it. She actually answers her e-mail if you ask questions. I think I have received 3 or 4 e-mails from her. How many divas do that?

Actually, my girlfriend really got me into her. She absolutely adores her, especially since "Evita" was the very first Broadway show she attended. I gave her tickets for "Passion" at Lincoln Center and she was in heaven.
So, of course, we're both excited about Sweeney Todd and I surprised her by getting tickets on our anniversary (a year and 10 months, no huge milestone but still...).
How is Ms. Lupone with fans? I've never met her but I know she'll be at the flea market..anyone care to share an experience?

I don't think she's right for everything, but I think she was great as Mrs. Lovett in the concert Sweeney and I'm looking forward to seeing the revival. No, she wasn't Lansbury, but she created her own Mrs. Lovett, which is why she was good.

Saw her in Cincy when she was touring her cabaret/one-woman show thingy last october....absolutley brilliant. Group of us got to stay after the show and meet with her and do a little q & a which was awesome. She entertained us with many tales and her words of wisdom and was very nice. Now I can say I was 2 feet away from Patti Lupone, which is always something fun to brag about.

you should have seen her last month in Anyone Can Whistle at Ravinia........she was slightly off that night, but still wonderful

I am absolutely thrilled to get to see her in Sweeney Todd in November.
There is seeing theatre and then there is seeing something to tell you kids about - seeing Patti Lupone falls into the latter for me.

I love that so many people are showing their love for Patti!!
I've seen her twice in concert and also saw her in Noises Off. Talk about freakin' brilliant! A friend of mine had also arranged for us to meet her in her dressing room after Noises Off, and she could not have been nicer! You hear stories about her "diva attitude," but there were 6 strangers in her dressing room after this draining performance, and she was just as kind and generous as she could be. That just reinforced why I love her so much!!

I've seen her twice in concert, and both times she was unbelievable. She IS amazing! She is super sweet to fans. In Portland, it was raining after the show, and she still stayed to sign autographs.
Does anyone have a guess if Sweeney Todd will still be open next March because that is when I will be in NY?

Patti Lupone is an amazing performer. I'll always remember how wonderful she was in the original staging of Les Miserables at the Barbican theatre. What an emotional performance, no one left the theatre with a dry eye. She was also superb in Sunset Boulevard, I remember sitting in the 2nd or 3rd row centre as she was belting out "As if we never said Goodbye" and the power of her voice was incredible, you could imagine the glasses rattling in the theatre bar. The amazing thing about her is she is as good an actress as a singer, I was bowled over by her performance as Maria Callas in Masterclass.

I thought her performance as La Divina was beyond brilliant and dare I say far superior to Zoe Caldwell's and of course Dixie Carter's.
