I think I've died and gone to heaven...
From Variety...
The star and director of Broadway's "Sweeney Todd" will reunite in February 2007 for Los Angeles Opera's presentation of Kurt Weill's "Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny." Patti LuPone will star along with Audra McDonald in "Mahagonny" under the direction of John Doyle.

I'm sorry to admit my knowledge of Kurt Weill is very little. So, is there a part for Michael?

Patti is losing Michael as soon as Sweeney is over. She's a diva, she works alone. Just kidding, of course.

i didn't think i could have been more excited for this production.... BUT I WAS WRONG!
i wonder, though, if Doyle is directing the piece with his signature techinique (actor's playing the orchestra, etc.) since this piece is considerably large - though so is sweeney.
