this isnt a performance, but ill never forgive myself for not taking the oppertunity:
i was seeing AGYG revival with bernadette peters, and the kid who plays LITTLE JAKE's parents were sitting behind us (me & my grandma) so my grama strikes up a conversations and we find out theyr'e his parent and they tell us where the stage door is and that they'll wait for us and give a tour and let us meet the cast, etc. but i had a stomach ache i decided not go. looking back, it wasn't even a bad stomach ache!! blah!!i should have gone! anyways, i met bernie later at GYPSY
Jeffrey Wright in Top Dog/Under Dog
I had tickets for a Sunday matinee and realized the curtain was at 2:00 instead of the customary 3:00 until it was too late.
My dad and I were in New York when The Producers was in previews and he almost got tickets (like, mid-orchestra or something) but decided against it because "who likes mel brooks anyway? probably it'll close in a week."
.......
I got to see it with Lane and Broderick when they came back last winter/spring, but I had to stand in the back and wait in the cold for three hours to get the tickets.
I also didn't get to Brian Stokes Mitchell and Christine Baranski in Sweeney Todd at the Kennedy Center in the Sondheim festival two summers ago.
For that matter, I didn't see ANYTHING at the Sondheim festival, which included Raul Esparza in a whole buncha things. Silly Mom...
forgot my other oops- passed up deiscount tickets to see the producers in previews
Not living in NYC has prevented me from catching certain shows like, "Take Me Out". There's a theatre in DC that will be producing this show in May 2005.

Our last day in NYC last April, we had to choose between Gypsy and Sly Fox. Because we had seen mostly musicals, we went with Sly Fox. To say I've regretted that choice ever since would be a GROSS understatement.

I could've seen Wicked when it premiered here in San Francisco. Yet, I chose not to go.
I passed up seeing Marin Mazzie and Stokes in "Kiss Me Kate," the first time I was in New York because I was a dumb 15 year old. Dumb dumb dumb dumb!!!!!!!!!!
OBC of Caroline, or Change.
Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick in The Producers.
Instead of those two we ended up seeing Little Shop (ugh), RENT, Avenue Q, Hairspray (w/ Shoshana Bean as Tracy), Wicked and Gypsy.

Angela Lansbury in SWEENEY TODD. Don't get me started.
I haven't actually missed a lot, but I do regret never seeing Boy From Oz, because of my best friend who grunted, "Don't waste your money," and so I didn't. And even though I don't think too highly of it based on the cast recording, I do sort of wish I had seen it.
Somehow, I managed to miss seeing Sherie Rene Scott in RENT... it was probably during my brief vacation from Rent between the OBC and when I picked it up again awhile later. And I wish, insanely, that I could have seen her.
Lippa's The Wild Party, because I saw LaChiusa's and PREFER LaChiusa's, but so many people prefer Lippa's that I wonder what I missed.

how was shoshana as tracy? i thought tracy was supposed to be FAT!!!???!!!
I would have loved to see Lea Solanga as Kim in MISS SAIGON, or as Eponine in Les Mis... or even in any Broadway. I hope that I get the chance to.
I would also love to see Philip Quast (Javert) or Michael Ball (Marius)from the 10th Anniversary of Les Miserables in person being a part of a Broadway.
I would love to see Adam Pascal again, and Hugh Jackman as the Boy From Oz.
RENThead, enLIGHist, Ozalot, Grobanite, Ringer, Pickwick LW, Wicked, Lost, American Dreams, West Wing

wow. for the times i've been to NYc, i've seen lots of shows. lots that you people named. but, i wish i coulda seen
RENT-OBC (my mother said i was too young, she was right. but SHH don't tell her!)
Sweet Smell of Success- my dad said that it got terrible reviews, we sold our tickets and saw a movie
CHICAGO- forgot the tickets at my aunts apartment.
Ragtime- OBC, my mom thought the musical was too dark for me (same as rent. see above!)
and most recently...
Taboo 2- saw Never Gonna Dance instead.
Shoshana was pretty amazing. I saw Marissa also in the Seattle tryout, and she was ok, but Shoshana just pulled it out! She wore a fat-suit in the show when she would go on. She added some great riffs in the middle of songs which didn't make sense at all with here character, but it made me happy. I have a bootleg of her doing the show at Tracy. Mmmmmmm...
David Bowie in The Elephant Man
Taylor & Burton in Private Lives
Steppenwolf's original Balm in Gilead
The Goodman's Death of a Salesman

Contact. The last "best musical" I'm ever gonna miss. I saw the final performance on PBS, and now I can kick myself.
Taboo. I wasn't too sure, and winter weather and all, but after hearing the OBCR, nuts again!
Wonderful Town with the origional cast, I actually had tickets and Donna Murphy was out so I got refunds and saw Little Shop instead. I finally got to see it with Brooke Shields and Jennifer Hope Wills and loved it.
Kiss Me Kate with Marin and BSM. I'm another dummie.
Oh, and Wendy, I got to see the three shows as you mentioned, and not to rub it in, but they were all terrific, some of my all time favorites.

AIDA...
*cries*
Well, when I was in the 7th grade, in the beginning of the year, I had the oppurtunity to see LSOH, but alas I had not discovered my Broadway obsession until later on in the year so I didn't go..I regret it so so much!

Just recently, I had bought really amazing tickets to the 10th Anniversary "Passion" concert and couldn't go because my friggin' law professor decided to reschedule the exam for that day. Needless to say, my mind wasn't exactly on the test...

Aida (tour, 2001, i think)- My mom had two tickets, the other was for my godmother.
Chicago (2003 tour)- REALLY wanted to go- lovin' Marshall's film and wanted to see the stage version. However, pre-planned trip to a friends' place got in the way. I opted for the friend's. Damn!
"Bare" at Dodger Stages. It will always be a regret of mine.
Heres one....
When I was younger when the Lion King first came out and it was like the biggest thing ever? Well the first month it came out and a friend got me tickets (orchestra seats) and backstage passes but I couldn't go because I was having surgery! ugh! i WILL LIKE NEVER FORGET THAT
I could have seen the OBC of Miss Saigon. There was a single ticket on sale on the bulletin board of the hotel where I was staying. I was 18, it was my first trip to NY, and I would have had to go alone that night and seperate from my group. I wouldn't think twice about doing that now, but at the time it just didn't seem like an option.
