It depends. If the song "My Mysterious Lady" is in there then Peter has to have a higher soprano range.
Do you know if that song is being cut or not?

Posted: 5/10/06 at 6:48pm"MYsterious Lady" was written solely as an excuse to get Martin and Ritchard singing together. In most revivals it is now cut.

Posted: 5/10/06 at 6:55pmReally? I assumed it would be because it would be. What is the range note wise without Mysterious Lady? I have to come up with an audition song that's why I'm looking for the notes.

Posted: 5/10/06 at 9:46pmThis may be an upopular opinion, but I think the show works much better without "Mysterious Lady." Everytime I see it in the Mary Martin video, it just seems so out of place. I think the show flows better without it. Why would a boy ever sing like that?

Posted: 5/13/06 at 3:07amDo you think they would ever cast a real boy to play Peter Pan? I would like to see that, especially an extremely talented one who could pull it off. I'm sure there are some out there.

Posted: 5/13/06 at 6:54amI saw Robert Johansson play Peter at the Paper Mill Playhouse a few years ago. He was excellent. BD Wong also did a regional production of the show.

Posted: 5/13/06 at 1:35pmThat would be cool. But finding the guy would be so hard. He would have to have an amazing tenor voice which I've noticed it's hard to even find just plain tenors sometimes.Plus, they would have to be an amazing dancer and be flexible. And act well. I know a guy that would be a good Peter Pan except he's extremely melodramatic in his acting...

I always liked "Mysterious Lady" when I was younger and enjoyed signing it, as I was a little choir boy soprano back in the day, never in public just in front of the TV with Mary Martin, but now with the revised script version of the show that is usually used I guess that song would have to take place in act one (or act two in the Cathy Rigby tour) during the Marooners Rock scene and I just don't see that working. but, I have seen productions where a "ghost" sings it and one where they had Wendy sing it. it's a cool song though. more people should sing it for cabarets and stuff...
