It will be a "new version". Here's what they wrote about it:

"The BAE production of Cinderella will be adapted by Mark Waldrop, the award winning writer and director whose credits include Bette Midler's Divine Miss Millennium Tour.

Director Bobby Garcia will supervise an all-new version of Cinderella which is aimed at the adult audience as well as the family audience."

"The Rodgers and Hammerstein library has allowed the creators of this new production to not only feature the famous song "Ten Minutes Ago," but also to introduce other famous songs from the catalogue which capture the romance and enchantment that will be the cornerstones of this production."

They're mixing several versions. They're including "The Sweetest Sounds" and "There's Music in You" from the Disney version and subsequently the Eartha Kitt tour, but they're also including "Loneliness of Evening", "Boys and Girls Like You and Me" and "Your Majesties". I wish they'd record it. It'd be like having a compilation album of different songs from all the various versions.

"I hope this comes to broadway next season."

...Broadway, and maybe tour also. This is one of those shows that will be good on tour. So glad they are having Cinderella back :)
(maybe Sutton Foster can consider it, now).

Does Lea strike anyone else as completely wrong for this part? She's 37.

But yes, Sutton Foster and Cheyenne Jackson would completely own for the Broadway cast.

Cheyenne would be good as the Prince, but his talent would be completely wasted. Having done the show (though not this version), the Prince is a sucky role.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

It really is a poorly developed role, but it does help to have "Loneliness of Evening" just to have something more for him to sing. Though I've never liked the placement of it.
