A 5-day run is pretty standard for nearly every Broadway tour in Austin. Unless it was a massive hit, there would be no reason for the producers to send it back to Austin, especially without booking neighboring cities. Not to mention that online petitions for Broadway shows have a reputation of being nothing more than wasted bandwidth. I'm surprised an online petition to bring one musical back to Austin because somebody liked it is considered worthy of being a news article on BWW.
Did theatregoers in Austin like Priscilla? Probably. Did they demand a longer run or a return visit over the 99% of shows that have a 5-day engagement in Austin? I highly doubt it.
The tour will be in Houston for 2 weeks in Sep and Oct. If people are truly that rabid for a return viewing, they can drive in for a weekend matinee and drive home. I've done it for tours that skipped Houston.

You would think the local theatre critic would have at least some understanding of the way things worked and know that it's not the producers of the tour he needs to petition, but the local presenting/booking organization.
Wait, BWW writers can write about their own projects?
