Thanks for all the advice! Do you know where your seat is after you purchase online, or not until you pick it up at the theatre? Would you end up with a better seat if you pick up the ticket sooner rather than later?

You won't know the seat location until you pick it up at the theater. And the last time I played the lottery for this (summer 2016, full disclosure), we picked them up 30 minutes to curtain and we were in BB, so I'm sure they are pre-printed not long after you pay.
I've seen this show several times since and I'd stick to front orch, which are usually the lottery seats anyway. The last time I was in the mezz for this show, someone sat on the aisle stairs right as 'Masquerade' was beginning (they were complaining of their legs hurting very loudly during intermission) and I was totally taken out of the moment for a good 10 minutes while an usher prodded them from the stairs. Just another story to share of my Bway adventures![]()
Good luck with the lottery!

In general, I tend to notice that I get better seats if I purchase very soon after getting the winner email, though that's across all the Broadway lotteries, not just Phantom, but it never hurts to be early.

I am planing on going to NYC in a few weeks and wanted to know if there were any recent wins and seat locations. I'm trying to win for a thursday matinee and was also wondering what the chances of winning might be? Thanks

Hello, I recently won the lottery at the end of January for the Thursday matinee. This has been my 4th lottery win for the Thursday matinee, as every time I’ve entered it I’ve won. My tip if you really want to win is enter as soon as the lottery opens (12A Thursday). My seats have also always been in the 2nd or 3rd row on the left. This last time I got B 1 & 3. I hope this helps, but I think a weekday matinee Phantom win is pretty easy. Good luck!

If anyone's won recently, how long has it taken for your tickets to be emailed to you? I won for tomorrow; after I paid it said the tickets would be emailed shortly (and then I received a confirmation email saying they would be emailed shortly), but I haven't received anything yet. Is it normal to not receive them until the day of, or, based on previous comments, should I expect to go to the box office to pick them up?

You'll get an email around 3am the morning of the show with your tix available for download/PDF. No need to stop at the box office.

I got BB1 for the evening show, which I thought was perfect. Emilie was out, which was a bit disappointing since seeing her was one of the reasons I went. I actually won last month for the Saturday matinee, passed when I learned that was one of the alternate performances and kept entering--guess I was meant to see Julia (and she was excellent). But seeing John Riddle was the other reason I went, and it was a great seat for that. :)
