wow this is odd. I guess this a recent thing? Everytime I'm at the Majestic & seeing POTO...if someone took a picture inside the theatre, the ushers would literally yell at the person.

Well, some of the pictures might not have actually been taken. There are several flashes during the Overture that really look like cameras, but are just stobe lights used for every performance. I never quite understood why, but they're there.

If I take a picture in a theatre, I ALWAYS turn the flash off, and it's never during the show. I like the insides of theatres, they're so purty.

I think people are getting ridiculous... no one should be allowed in after the show has started, its so rude and disruptive, and they give a five minute warning during intermission usually before the show will start back up.
At the Gershwin (side note: they realy need bigger bathrooms lol) my sister and I were on line for the bathroom and it was really long and the warning came and a lot of people left but not all, and although (sorry graphic! lol) we really had to go we left and sat down so we wouldnt be rude, and sure enough lots of ladies strolled in after the show was in progress.
They shouldn't let back in after intermission if they are late, they get a warning and if they are stupid enough to ignore it then oh well (like in Spider Man 2 lol)!
As for the pictures, I don't know what to say its just so obnoxious. At the movie theaters I throw popcorn at people who take out their phones lol but I wouldn't do that during live theater, and if you say something then you make more noise and become disruptive, but I mean seriously, how trashy do you have to be to take pics during the show or play with your phone... okay sorry this was so long

When I was there, the pictures were being taken during the seating process, so the show hadn't even started yet. Some people were taking them right in front of the usher, who did absolutely nothing. I was rather shocked. There was so much flashing I thought I was in Vegas! It didn't occur during the show though, thanks to a rather stern warning from the stage manager. I do recall one picture being taken during the show, but it was a few weeks ago and it may have been during the curtain call.

Can't say I've seen it happen to often. At most, one flash during a show. Though...before the show and during intermission, I've seen a lot of people taking photos of the theatre or the chandelier with their camera phones. But nothing so drastic.

The exception was the record-breaking night. Not during the show, but during the special curtain calls...lots of camera phones, digital camaras, and video cameras being used then!
