Ok this question is about the last scene of Phantom so if you have not scene it please skip this page.

My question is at the end of POTO the Phantom sits in the chair, wraps the cloth around himself and disappears. Does anyone know how this done. Thanks a million....

I always wanted to know that as well. I've seen the show 5 times and I cant figure it out. I met Sandra Joseph (christine) backstage after the show, and i asked her how it was done, but she told me that iits a secret magic trick that nobody can kno about.

If I remember correctly (its been a while since I saw Phantom or the specials about it) the chair collapses in so that the Phantom goes into a box which is the frame of the chair. He basically is hiding inside the chair

Ok but then how does the mask appear on the chair at the end though. Because the last time we see the mask in Past the Point of No Return.

I've always thought that some things were just meant to stay secret.

And how does the cloak keep its shape, right until the moment Meg whips it away?

I will climb back up that mountain!

There is a special little device that sticks out and allows the cloak to keep its shape... it's like a little pole, I believe.

I've actually been shown how's it's done... The mystery is actually half the fun guys! Let's just say you need to press about six button in a certain order and be good a shifting your weight. Doing this smoothly and quickly is the key. LOL! :)

I wonder...if in the how many years POTO has been out...has anything ever messed up and the Phantom wasn't able to disappear.

I thought that the chair has two sides to it and the Phantom somehow turns it around and the other side only has a mask on it. That was my drama teacher's theory on how they do it, but I think we would be able to see the chair turning.

I heard that ALW bought Harry Potter's cloak from JK Rowling...

Yeah, I know how it is done too, but I am sworn to secrecy, and the person who showed me lurks on this board...

Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky. With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high! Blood-red were the spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat, when they shot him down on the highway, down like a dog on the highway, and he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat...
