Posted: 11/29/14 at 12:53pmI'm planning on seeing Phantom for a Saturday matinee in two weeks and all I can afford is rear mezz seats in the back-- is the visibility okay from there? I've seen the show before from the orchestra so I am not too worried about it but I'd still like to check to see how they are! Thanks :)

Posted: 11/29/14 at 1:53pmI first saw PHANTOM many years ago from the very last row in the rear mezz. THe only thing behind me was the wall of the theater. The stage seemed very small to me and the actors' facial expressions were non-existant. Of course, back then it was the hardest ticket to get on Broadway. The last time I saw PHANTOM I bought half price tickets at TKTS--I think they were around $75. I sat in the front row of the front mezzo and the view was perfect. Now, there are TONS of discounted prices. I hope your are not paying full price.

I haven't bought the tickets yet, but when I do they will not be full price. Still can't afford more than rear mezz though

Posted: 11/29/14 at 5:52pmI sat in the last row of the rear mezzanine just a few months ago, and while the view was OK with taking in the sets and all, you could not see the actors' facial expressions. It only REALLY matters though when the Phantom takes off his mask, but still. It was only OK because the first time I saw it I was in Orchestra Center Row I. If that is all you can afford though, then it's OK.

There also is the option of getting standing room which is much better than rear mezz and is only $27. But please do some research just don't settle there are plenty of deals around.

Posted: 11/30/14 at 8:49amStanding room would be good, but there are two negatives to that. First, I hear that the mezzanine overhang is highly obstructive, and takes away people's enjoyment of the show even more than the last row of the rear mezzanine. Second, there is only standing room when the show is sold out, and the show being completely sold out is incredibly rare these days. Like PanaroFan111 also said though, you really should explore some discount codes. Good luck!
