But I'm excited, too. For you, I mean.
The Phantom is my lover.

Sorry to be so harsh. I love that tragic man as well. In all his incarnations. I'm just so PISSED OFF that ALW wouldn't even give him a BLOODY NAME!!!

JK, darling. But has it occured to you that i'm not in love with Erik, just the evil Phantom?
Think about it.

Sorry, ten minutes ago I literally had Phantom by Susan Kay in my hand and I was reading (my favorite part) the Persia chapters. Siiiiiigh. I just love him. Desperately. If only they could make a movie of that version... "How lightly you speak of forgetting--you, who have never known the filth and degredation of a cage!!" siiigh.
I just get very upset about ALW not giving him a name. It's all he has in the world, really, his name. "It's true Christine, I am not a ghost, nor an Angel--I am ERIK!" siiigh. How I do love this story...

Also, check out Phantomfans.net. Check out the thread "sound clips" in the Andrew Lloyd Webber's POTO section, and somewhere between page 30-44 you will find Emmy Rossum and Patrick Wilson singing "All I Ask of You."

I am leaving you with a paragraph from Phantom (can I do this? Ah well...). I LOVE IT! (those other quotes I said I had memorized, but this I am reading from the book hehe)
"My mouth dropped open in astonishment, for nothing in his grim and austere appearance had prepared me for his voice. Even in that cold, clipped comment its astonishing beauty was quite unmistakable. Only those who heard him speak and sing will ever know just what a voice could be, for it was necessary to hear the extraordinary resonance and depth of timbre to truly understand the magnitude of his power. I never expected to heard such a voice outside paradise."
Sigh. I love Erik. And Nadir (the man speaking, for those who aren't up on their Susan Kay).

Actually, I'm taking that back. I'm not sorry. Just if it annoys you, *shrug*

Second, she's not COMPLETELY DUBBED, only the higher notes.
Minnie Driver CAN SING.
Just needed to clear that up.
As you were...

In films, they can do pretty much anything they want, I believe, with the sound. Although most of the actors are able to do their own singing, we'll probably never know for sure how much is them and how much is "Memorex."
