I was told his hair was that way due to a role he is playing at the Public. He left tech, flew to the West Coast then returned after the ceremony. I believe his show begins previews tomorrow night.

Does anyone have any pictures of Hoffman? I've searched but can only find them from last year's Oscars. I didn't see him.

I hope Ellen doesn't return to this or any other awards show. This was the first time I saw her and now I'm wondering what all the hoopla is about. Her material was boring. As for Philip Seymour Hoffman, he looked a lot better than Nicole Kidman

Yeah, Hoffman also went on close to midnight after probably sitting in that theatre since 6:30 or 7.

The show ended no later than 9:30. It was broadcast live, wasn't it? I don't see why it wouldn't have been.

Those places/situations are high stress fests.
He mainly looked beyond stressed, like many feeling humans would be.
It's either that, or I guess he's jumped way off the wagon.

Who cares. The man has a lot of talent. You try performing in a show, flying to LA and see how you look.
Hoffman is about substance. I admire him and I think he is hot.

Accusing him of falling off the wagon is reckless and uncalled for. I know for a fact that he hasn't so lets just leave that out of the equation. The man had messy hair, so did Johnny Depp at the Oscars. It doesn't mean they were drunk, it means they don't get caught up in all the Oscar BS and could care less what anyone thinks about their hair for christs sake.

He did not have "messy" hair. He had stringy, greasy, lopsided hair.

I'd hardly call combing and/or washing your hair getting "caught up in all the Oscar BS."

He looked disgusting. Fine, that doesn't change his talent. But why are you defending him or anyone else looking so gross (at the Oscars or anywhere)?
