What church do you GO TO? Maybe you better find another church. Your mom must have had to DRAG you there cause you seem awfully bitter to be a nice Christian guy.
First off, I think Mr. Rosenbloom was being facetious.
Second, why are "nice" and "Christian" synonymous with you, Ms. Melody2? I think you are drawing generalizations.
I really can't stand people like you on this board. At least have some cleverness about your comments when you want to be snarky.
I found his post to be not only clever, but light hearted and funny.
I find your post, Ms. Melody2, to be nothing but bitter and resentful. Cheer up.

Wow--way to spread the love of Christ, Ben. I'm sure He would applaud your honesty, openness, kindness, and charity.
Next time you identify yourself as a Christian in a post, you might want to reread what you've just typed and ask yourself whether the one you profess to follow would make that post...you're effectively doing so in His name when you invoke it in your message.

Well, you know, with Ben it's awfully hard to tell sometimes what he REALLY thinks/means about anything.
Right, Ben?

Posted: 4/7/07 at 12:05pmJeez, people, please! Calm it down a bit and take a big step back for a moment! The bitching is juat getting annoying at this stage.
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

AgnusN: Seriously? You check BWW.com but are too sheltered to even know of two other major Broadway news sites on the web? Cute!
And the problem is I do mildly like PQ, and find Block to be an enchanting performer. So I feel kind of insulted that you just told me to not open this thread. 8(
ETA: I just looked up facetious, and yes, that is what I was being.

I think sometimes it's hard for people to tell this since you can be so down on the show at times. I think it's just been hard for many to figure out where you stand on things.

Anyone mind if we just get back to the topic?... or at least back to the general subject of the show.
Oh, that was pretty much what I was asking you. Also, would you be a fan of The Pirate Queen or paid any attention to it, if Stephanie wasn't involved in it?
Muscle - I learned about this show the day Stephanie auditioned (way back in late 2005) and I've been keeping up with it ever since I found out she was cast. She does play a huge part in why I first got interested (I'm not naturally drawn to Irish history or all things pirate) but the more I learned about the actual story the more interested I got in the play itself.
I followed castcom, which in turn made me more excited to go to Chicago, which then got me reading the reviews, which then sparked my curiousity to follow the changes, which then got me anxious to see how it was going to be received in NY... so my interest in the show is more of the fact that PQ is the first show I've followed so closely, and for such a length of time.
Would all that have happened had Stephanie not been involved in the show? I think eventually yes (as I've been starting to keep up with the Legally Blonde videos and am slowly getting interested in that too) but she was definitely the main reason I started supporting and following PQ from so early on. I was, and still am, so happy that she finally got to originate a leading role on broadway.

Posted: 4/7/07 at 3:33pmI really am pulling for this show. I always hope a show will do well. I have to say, though, from the broadway.com clip, not one of those songs interested me in the least. I know it's only a snippet, but USUALLY a snippet is all I need to love something, which I usually do (I'm obsessed with Curtains, and all I have are a couple of videos online to tide me over til June). I hope there are tons of better songs in the show. There are videos of the Chicago performance on the naughty site, and I really tried to love, I did! The show seems very "shouty" to me. well, anyway, I guess I'll have to wait to see it for myself, if I get a chance, or maybe, by the grace of God, there will be a cast recording. :O) Happy Easter!
