Raith honey, you NAILED me. Wow, I've wanted to come clean for so long!! Whew, what a relief. I'm not only a tremendously talented guy, but I have nothing but time to do Altar Boyz and post here, sometimes, simultaneously. Really, I'm so slick, I sometimes post while on stage, right in the middle of an intermissionless show. you guys are just SO smart! :)))

If Orfeh is "all of 100 pounds", I'm the Queen of England. Oh, and just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make their opinions "complete fiction".

Hey there

thought I'd chime in here...

first of all...Romance/Romance did run for 8 months, but apparently it never returned it's initial investment.

At the concert, one of the things we discussed was people's definitions of "flop." Technically, according to Variety a flopis anything that doesn't return it's initial investment, so technically Millie and Sunset Boulevard are both "flops" despite lengthy Broadway runs and Best Musical Tonys. So we subtitled the evening "Songs from musicals which have been "egregiously overlooked."

And as to the women in these photos being "plump," this seems to be a frightening look at societal issues. Each of these women appear healthy to me. They're no Lindsay Lohan (Thank God), but it seems a tad obnoxious to point them out as being "plump." Orfeh looks fantastic, as does Celia, Natalie, Sara Gettelfinger, Jens Colella, Gambatese and Foote.

Each of them is gorgeous and yes...if some of them were in Hollywood, they'd need to lose weight to be successful...that in itself is pretty ludicrous.

And as for Ben Strothmann's photos, they are fantastic-far better than photos I've seen on many other Broadway websites. Not to mention, as a director and producer-working with Ben is always a delight and never causes problems for actors, staff and other press.

Orfeh's not fat -- but she deff aint skinny. Now Sara Gettelfinger, she is skinny! Although I think she looks gorgeous in photos. You know what they say the camera adds 10 lbs.

Am I supposed to know her husband is in Altar Boyz and pay attention to the times you post as well? I just said I've never seen her in anything, obviously I don't follow her and I don't know to whom she's married. I also don't monitor your time online. All I know is that you are more sensitive to posts about her than I am to posts on this board about my best friend, who is also a Broadway performer, so you must be very, VERY close to Orfeh in some way.

Or you're pathetically obsessed.

I can't talk now MEF, I'm off to go be in Altar boyz. And p.s., "All Hail the queen". Should I bow next we meet?

Wait, Raith, you didn't just call me pathetically obsessed did you? This coming from the woman who flip flops even when people are agreeing with her. I made a vow long ago to not deal with you because you're truly impossible and i won't break that now. And I'd say, Orfeh is, IMO, worthy of an obsession if Karen Ziemba is. At least I don't think that someone I've spoken 50 words to in my life, is my best friend.

Thanks for being a reasonable voice Jamie M. As for how all this started, I NEVER once mentioned Orfeh, er, I mean, my wife, (oh shoot, there I go again, revealing my true identity), that honor goes to MEF.

I'm glad you know all about my life and with whom I spend most of my time, Al. Your defensive and offensive stance is so ugly. Uglier than F A T of any kind. You can't have a discussion without attacking the people who dare to disagree with the all-knowing you. Why don't you stick to speaking of that which you know, instead of trying so hard to be above the rest of us that you fall into the gutter time and time again?

I'm scared to think of what is considered "thin" if the woman who sang last night are being scrutinized for looking "plump" or "overweight."

Having sat about three feet from all of them while they sang last night, there's not a single one of them who would ever be considered anything but normal, healthy looking woman. In fact many of them are probably thinner than you'd imagine, but no scarily so. And Orfeh is certainly not thinner or bigger than any of them in person.

When we wonder why people hate themselves and will kill themselves to be thin, I'll just remember absurd and horrifying questions like this one.

You go to hear I'M NOT ALONE live?

Celia was my favorite performance of the night. It's sort of amazing what a huge voice comes out of such a petite package!

Runner-ups for favorite were Jamie on "Words He Doesn't Say", Natalie Joy Johnson on "But You Go On" and Leslie Kritzer on "He Needs Me Now". I personally didn't know a single song from the show last night, but enjoyed several of the amazing voices that delivered them.

In the interest of being fair, I just spent a healthy amount of time looking at many, many photo's that include Orfeh on Broadway.com, on Yahoo images, wireimage, on Playbill, etc...I even bothered to watch the Feinstein's video again to see if maybe I'm the one in need of glasses. Alas, this low life, know it all (thanks Raith), is right again. The woman is tiny and beautiful and I can't wait to see her in Trailer. I won't bother to do the infamous linking thing but they're all there for your viewing pleasure and scrutiny. Now, I doubt sincerely that she needs me, or anyone for that matter, to take up for her, but as I feel I've reached my crap-o-meter with this board and particularly certain posters like Raith, MEF, etc... who ruin it for everyone else, all the time, I will say my peace here and now. Raith I say, if even ONE of your body parts looks, even remotely like Orfeh's, you should go back in to acting and spare us all your bitter diatribes that reek of painful regret that only a failed something or other would reek of. And to the others who think she's "zaftig" and to the Queen herself, I say, you can all come work for me in the modeling world as clearly, your thin-o-meters, are as warped as mine.

I was once accused of being Mandy Gonzalez and now, Raith, the superbrain, accuses me of being pathetically obsessed with a certain actress, and/or even MARRIED to said actress, even though I've spent almost three years on this board talking about everything under the sun, including but NOT limited to, Orfeh. I'm just as "pathetically obsessed" and knowledgeable with and about Sherie Scott, Ramirez, Sexton, Francis and Skinner. And guess what, I'm not married to any of those beautiful, amazing, and rich singers who whine and screetch either.

It saddens me that there are always going to be people who piss in the pool for no other reason than to enrich their pathetic lives. But I will not allow insults hurled in my direction by the likes of Raith or anyone else for that matter because MOST, (again, I used the word MOST), posters on this board are wanna-be's, or worse, neverbeens. And there are VERY few posters, (myself included) who post here simply for the love of the art form and it's artists. To be clear, I was "commenting" on the photography, more than the subjects, but of course, that got past most of you. Subtlety never did sink in around here. But to continue in her downward spiral of lies, MEF felt the need to take the thread to a ridiculous and unecessary place as she has her own troubles to deal with, one of them, clearly being Orfeh.

I'm a staunch believer in "live and let live", but nonsense is just that and small mindedness is ugly. Bad taste, well, you can't do a thing about that...

1.) I'm a guy, which I suspect you know and are just being an asshole about, so I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't refer to me as "she" or "her".

2.) As I said before, just because I don't share your views about Orfeh doesn't make my personal views lies or hate speech. I have seen Orfeh in several shows and believe that I'm capable of making up my own mind about a performer. I plan to see her in the trailer park musical (although she is definitely not the reason I'm seeing it). I guess the fact that I would pay to see her again even though she's not my favorite performer makes me closed-minded...

3.) You accuse Rath and I of being small-minded and having bad taste. I guess that calling people fat isn't small-minded. What I find funniest is that you call several women fat, but when someone else points out that a woman that you happen to admire isn't particularly petite, you go ape****. TALK about small-minded!

In life, some will agree with you and some will disagree. You, my friend, need to practice some tolerance towards others opinions, even when they don't mirror yours.

Amen, Al Dente.

Funny thing about all of this is that a very good friend of mine was in SNF with Orfeh and at that time she was so rail-thin that everyone accused her (falsely) of being anorexic!!!

Of course back then there were no nasty message boards like this one so gossip like that truly stayed within the inner circle of Broadway and wasn't up for discussion amongst teens in the midwest (or QUEENS in midtown west!).

Ah, the good old days.

By the way, mef... Al never called SPECIFIC women fat. You started naming names, not Al... Updated On: 8/8/05 at 08:45 PM

Weighty issues aside - appearances have very little to nothing to do with talent. Period.

And Ruprecht. You're mistaken. There were quite a few message boards around in 1999-2000 including All That Chat and Rec.Arts.Theater.Musicals, where the "nastiness" as you call it existed and continues to exist.

I disagree, Craig. I think that All That Chat is pompous, close-minded and dull but NOT at all as nasty as this board. But you are right--it DID exist in 1999. As for that req, etc. thing... I've never been able to remember the address and therefore never visit it.

ANYWAY -

Anyone want to go into detail about Celia singing I'M NOT ALONE?

AGAIN -

Any "recordings" - it's not a bootleg if it has to do with Carrie. This is a recorded fact.

Here's another refresher Ruprecht. Broadway.com launched in May of 2000 - several months before SNF ended its run. Now I don't pretend to remember the posting atmosphere back then, but when the site closed it's message board in 2003 (roughly) I can assure you - it's nastiness far exceeded anything I've read on any message board.

SNF = Saturday Night Fever
Learn it.

Yes, I remember the Broadway.com message board, which was very similar to this one in tone. Thank god someone took it out back and killed it.

Corrected. Thanks. Back to my earlier point which is basically to say - the whole conversation about body type and talent is moot. You can be 80 pounds and talented (or not) or 300lbs and talented (or not). I don't think there's an issue to discuss here.
