What's with Liza’s makeup palette? Ladies, this is make-up don't -- there should not be a high contrast between the color of your face and neck/décolletage.
The photographer missed a few people, specifically Stephen Shwartz, Joyce Randolph and David Hyde Pierce. Anyways, great great GREAT event. I am still speechless!
Yup. I was 15th row and it was amazing. I was relaxing in the lobby about 5 minutes to 8pm and in walked Liza. I audibly gasped. I have never been so star-struck in my life sans when I met Stephen Sondheim. I had never viewed the concert before and while there was thunderous applause through out the viewing, I just sat there with my mouth wide open and frozen. It is by far the most brillant concert I have ever viewed in my life. Just amazing. I imagine if Judy's Carnegie Hall concert was recorded, it would be up to par with that.
. i'm so glad this piece is coming into public awareness again. all the sturm and drang in her life have turned liza into a punchline for a generation of people who aren't aware of her absolute BRILLIANCE as a performer. i refer you to the story about this event on today’s edition of GAWKER. the reporter starts off thinking, "my what an over the top lovey audience" when they start applauding at the credits but inexplicably finds himself clapping and cheering wildly after each number. i really wish she would direct as she says she'd like to do.
