I'm heading back over at the end of April. Can't wait. Don't know if this will work but here's one I took at night of The Palace Theatre last month:

Wow, I never realized the theatres in London's West End were so stunningly beautiful.
This makes me only more excited about visiting the city for the first time this summer! Can't wait!

Posted: 3/30/05 at 4:57pmI never understood why Les Miz got moved to the crappy looking theater. The outside of it is not that great looking. It used to be where "The Woman in White" is now. Humph.

The Far Pavilions tickets - The Musical - Shaftesbury Theatre
From the glittering Palace of Winds, to the deserts of Rajasthan... From the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, to an outpost of the British Raj... Is the most eagerly anticipated new musical of the year - opening in London’s West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
Based on the best selling novel by M. M. Kaye, The Far Pavilions, set in 19th century India at the time of the British Raj, follows the passionate and enduring love story of two star-crossed lovers. The story unfolds against a spectacular sweep of battle, treachery and intrigue. The Far Pavilions delivers epic story telling in a contemporary theatrical style, whilst evoking the romance, glamour and overconfidence of an Empire at the height of its power.
Featuring a 50-strong company, Hadley Fraser (Marius - Les Miserables) takes the lead as Lieutenant Ashton Pelham Martyn, with Gayatri Iyer (Bride and Prejudice) as Princess Anjuli.
Directed by Gale Edwards
Lyrics by Stephen Clark
Music by Philip Henderson

EponineThenardier - unfortunatly, the Queens Theatre was badly bombed during the war, and lost it's frontage which was rebuilt in the architecturally challenged 1950's.
However, the good news is that when Cameron Mackintosh gets around to his planned renovation of that block (including the construction of a new theatre called The Sondheim), it is rumoured that the frontage will be restored to it's former glory! There are no dates for this work to take place yet, though . . .
