I think she looks fabulous as Elphaba! I'm so excited to see her this summer!

"She looks abit... Old! remembering Elphaba is only 18th throughout the whole of Act 1, and only 24 at the start of Act 2, but I personally feel Broadway has not once had an Elphaba that looks age appropriate!"

Since when was a time gap officially determined? I didn't think the writers had said anything and every time I see the show I never feel as though that many years have passed. Perhaps you are going off the novel? Of course, it could just be me though. I haven't been keeping on top of the show lately.

I know it's too early to ask, but how long are Elphabas usually contracted for?

On Broadway typically 9 months.

Musicman1211, i BELIEVE it was in The Grimmerie (though it may have been elsewhere) where it says there is a 6 year time gap between the first 2 acts, however, I think it feels more like 6 weeks when watching it, however, that would place Elphaba at still being 18/19 (college/Uni age) when she is the fully established Wicked Witch!

I know it's a little late for me to make a popcorn joke but:

No butter for me thanks!

The novel establishes a much longer period of time passing between the time she leaves Glinda and appears to Nessa than the musical does. The musical is ambiguous about it.
