Piazza cast absences?

After all the amazing things I've heard about Piazza, I'm trying to plan a trip to NYC in the next few weeks. Is there news of any cast members planning to be out that I should try and plan around?

Thanks!

re: Piazza cast absences?

You might want to call the theatre. Since the show is a limited run, I don't think there are any scheduled absences for the cast members.

Check as the run has now been extended until the end of the year

No one is being cut from the cast, but there are going to be some vacations here and there: I know that Matt Morrison is scheduled to be out from July 22-24 (his understudy, David Burnham, is just as fabulous). Kelli is also scheduled to be out at some point during the summer.

flaemmchen -- do you know how I find out when Kelli's out? I looked for the number of the box office, but they point to telecharge for tickets. Would they know?

Thanks for your help!

Oh, I'll miss Matt. re: Piazza cast absences? But good to know about his understudy. I'm sure the show itself is the real star (though I'd hate to miss Victoria Clark).
I found David Burnham's website. Definitely looks like an up and coming star.

re: Piazza cast absences?

Sarah Uriarte Berry was out on the 11th and we had the great pleasure of seeing Laura Griffith on as Franca...I'm sure Sarah is great, but Laura was amazing. The show is brilliant and Victoria Clark and Kelli O'Hara are not to be missed.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

hmm...sounds like we still don't really know how to find out if Kelli or Victoria will be out short of asking them at the stage door? bummer.

theres a phone number at the very bottom of lct.org, its probably an administrative office but they can probably transfer you to the box office...

re: Piazza cast absences?

Victoria Clark was out, famously, the Sunday before they recorded the cast album (the day I saw the show!). When I did a tirade about it, I was put in my place at this board and another. She was apparently really ill, not saving her voice or some such. And as far as I know, she hasn't missed since. I must report again, Patti Cohenhour was stellar, moving, accomplished, and seemingly very rehearsed, when apparently she was not that infamous Sunday.

For my money, the person you don't want to miss is Ms. O'Hara. I thought she was the musical centerpiece of the show. But of course, the day I saw her, Mama was out.

re: Piazza cast absences?

When are the men ( such as Nocarelli) out ? Than I will know when our neighbor (Peter Samuel) will be performing as he just got a gig to understudy 3 of the male roles. Last on Broadway as the Nazi in The Producers. He is great, a real nice guy & has a great voice
