The Mike Piazzas made me laugh out loud!
Florentines is cute... or else Fanatici is pretty.

I received another name suggestion:
Piazzaphile
Otherwise, the vote seems to be leaning towards La Luce Fanatici...

Posted: 8/29/05 at 2:08pmwell, i think that works out to more like the fanatical light, instead of light fanatics but um, my italian isnt perfect anyway.

Fanatico means fanatic in Italian, and I think changing it to plural would make it: Fanatichi, but I don't know if that is right...

well we could make it La Luce Fanatici, and just abbreviate it LLF.

Words in -co and -go:
Form plurals in -ci and -gi if the final letter before the prefix is a vowel: l'amico, gli amici
Generally form plurals in -chi and -ghi if the final letter before the prefix is a consonant: il fungo, i funghi
i think its fanatici because theres an i before the c. but my point was the position of a descriptive word is flipped in italian. like pink sweater is maglione rosa (sweater pink).

Glad I could help, Pinny!
What is this order you speak of?

Hmm a name for us Piazza lovers eh? I dunno, that might be difficult to find a good name that will actually last. But i say go for it! I kinda like Team Piazza because that's what the cast calls themselves..and I like Piazzites or lighties. I dunno it'll be hard to get everyone to agree on one.
ps. I saw Piazza a few days ago after listening to the recording forever. It was truly amazing, perfect in everyway. sigh. When clara came out and sang at the end of the overture i just burst into tears because I was so happy to be seeing this amazing cast sing this beautiful music. Pathetic I know, but hey. I knew I would love Piazza for its music but I didn't realize it would be so funny..in every way it was what "the beauty is". The cast was also so sweet and fun at the stage door. Ok, sorry for gushing like this, but I wanted to share my experience and I thought a group of Piazzites(?? who knows what we'l be called)would understand. heh
Oh, and does anyone know how long they might be extended til? wouldn't it be great if they could be moved to a theater that it wouldn't be rotated out of?..and then it could play for years. God knows it's better than most of the stuff out there. Alright, this time I'm really done. I'll keep thinking about names though.

As for now, the show is till January 1st... but it remains to be seen whether or not the show will be extended. We are very glad you liked the show, as we all did. We are still thinking up of a name... so if you have one you particularly like, or you want to add one... feel free to just jump in. I think so far LA LUCE FANATICI [or LLF for short] is in the lead. Just my own personal opinion, but I didn't want to use Team Piazza BECAUSE that is what the cast uses. I thought it would be neat to come up with our own name for our group of fans. But... it's a poll, so feel free to vote any way you feel.

Posted: 8/29/05 at 5:01pmI vote for a short name just because it seems kind of overkill to call ourselves something that takes eight years to spit out...but if it were one of those phrases that just rolls off the tongue it could be longer and more luxurious...did that make sense? Hmm...whatever it is...this group is AWESOME!

i think its spelled rAgazzi? and it means boys, or boy & girls because i think if youre refering to both genders youd use the male plural.
and piazza is definitely more correct than piazzi but rhyming is so much fun...

Vote is currently tied: the two in the lead are Piazza Ragazzi [PR's] and La Luce Fanatici [LLF's].
In case you missed it: La Luce Fanatici means the Light Fanatics and Piazza Ragazzi means Piazza Boys & Girls... at least, that is what we think.
Anyway, pm me with your official vote,

La Luce Fanatici actually means "The Fanatical Light"
Switch the "fanatici" part and add in a "of" in there and it will make more sense...like..erm...Fanatici della Luce. I think. Di Luce? Not sure.
