THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA:
At the 2005 Tonys, one musical took home more awards than any other show. Set in 1953 Florence, The Light in the Piazza tells the story of the complex relationship between a mother and daughter, of life's disappointments and the joys of discovering unexpected love. This morning we welcome the winner of this year's Tony award for Best Actress in a Musical, Victoria Clark, and 2005 Tony nominated Kelli O'Hara to our show.

Thanks! I didn't know that they were going to do Piazza. I'll have to gear up my video and record this on Sunday.

Has anyone ever watched these before... I don't know if they are going to show clips from the show, or interviews with the cast...
Thanks,

Posted: 8/21/05 at 1:06amI saw this episode when they aired it the first time, pretty close to the Tony's. The segment was about half way through the program, and it was rather short: they showed a montage of clips from the show and interviewed Vicki and Kelli. The whole thing lasted maybe fifteen minutes, but it was cute.

Quick Question ... I watched the A&E show this morning .. during the interview Kelli O'Hara mentioned that she was not the first Clara and that Vicki had already developed a relationship with a previous daughter.
I'm a recent Piazza fan (saw it a few weeks ago, before Matt M. leaves)and was wondering who the original Clara was, how long she was in it for, and why she left.
Thanks so much!

I liked Kelli and Victoria on Breakfast with the Arts this morning. I was really tired, but I sat through the entire show just to see the Piazza segment... it wasn't too long, but it was cute. Anyway, I'm still looking for a clip of Kelli as Franca if anyone has one. I'm glad that Kelli replaced Celia because I think she suits the role more and I also really like Sarah Uriate Berry.

A two and a half second visual clip of Kelli as Franca was recently posted on the Piazza livejournal community. Link to the journal is below (and it's right this time, I swear!).
