Picnic vs Summer Brave

I was just wondering if anyone had read, or know about the changes made to Picnic in order for it to be Summer Brave?

BTW, I would love to have someone try and make a new musical out of Picnic (I know they made Hot September).

Josh Logan thought as much--the musical version is kinda awful. Summer Brave ends on a sad note--that's the main difference I've noticed between the two.

I saw Summer Brave on Broadway, and thought it was an excellent play and production.

I felt the ending was more realistic and honest than the one Logan imposed upon Inge for Picnic.
