Many thanks to Phyllis for doing an outstanding job. Watching the two edits individually, I didn't realize even how many quick lines of dialogue, or brief scenes were taken away. If you compare the combo cut and the Fosse edit very closely, you'll actually realize there were still a few more little things Phyllis (or whoever made the combo cut) didn't get to, or else they made specific editorial choices. I'm not knocking it, it's terrific, but the completist in me would want a little more of that stuff in, regardless of the quick changes in quality. Some of them are debatable as to whether they add anything (I refer you again to Berthe's bit about the juicy court gossip), but there's another verse missing from "War is a Science" and stuff like that which I think still adds a little something.
jewishboy, combo cut or Fosse cut?
