It looks great actually and well suited for the markets it will be playing. I think the cast sounds great also. Got to hear a few numbers live during rehearsal, let me tell you, they are all on mark!

It looks good, I'm just not sure about that leading player. Its also really hard to top the original company since they were amazing and HILARIOUS!!

I don't think their objective is to top the original company, just to put on a great show. The same could be said of the current B'way cast.

Im sure their objective isn't to top the original company, however for someone who did see them, this is most likely a downgrade. But thats usually how national tours are anyway sooo

I would never call a First national tour a down grade. I would still hold a First national tour with high honor.

I saw the national tour today and it was fabulous!
-Matthew James Thomas (Pippin) was just so spectacular! He was more perfect then I could have ever expected. The cast recording doesn't do him justice! Just a little disappointed he didn't come out the Sd.
-Sasha Allen(Leading Player)
was so amazing! She took a very different spin on the role then Patina and I have to say it was really interesting and I enjoyed it! She is also very kind and sweet. We had a few great laughs at the sd.
-Sabrina Harper (Fastrada)
She was spectacular! She was hilarious and if I could dance/do some other stuff... this would so be a dream role! She made me laugh so hard! Spread a Little Sunshine wasn't one of my favorite numbers!
-Lucie Arnaz and John Rubinstein (Berthe and Charles)
Both were comedic highlights! Lucie was miles better than I thought she was going to be. And John was so amazing to see as Charles as he was the original Pippin!
-Kristine Reese (Catherine)
Kristine was hilarious! Her Ordinary Kind of Women was just perfect! Catherine is now a dream role!
-Dimitrious Bistrevsky (Player)
He is so amazingly cool! He is so sweet to talk to and he's 6'7! He did these great tricks. He is was also the nicest at the stage door.
I could really write a three page on why everyone was great but these were just the people that stood out.
However, there were quite a few moments that dragged a lot. It may just be they need to find their rhythm or jet lag.
