Posted: 7/15/13 at 5:10pmHi. Planning on rushing Pippin this Wed. Any idea what time is a good time to ensure getting tix? Also, do they let people go in the theatre lobby & wait or does the line form on the sidewalk? Thanks.

Posted: 7/15/13 at 5:15pmI would suggest getting there about 6:30-7am. No one waits in the lobby since the box office isn't open yet.

Posted: 7/16/13 at 9:45amThis past friday I got there at 6 a.m. and I was 9th in line. The first person in line got there at 4. You have to wait on the sidewalk with everyone else. Doors open at 10.

Posted: 7/16/13 at 12:37pmI got there around 6:20am last Wednesday and was 11th for the evening show. I was around the 20th person to get there, but by the time the guy came by to give up the pieces of paper (around 9:30) I was like 27th in line, thanks to people who joined friends who were ahead of me in line.

Posted: 7/16/13 at 12:52pmThe pieces of paper say a letter and a number for example "E4" and naturally you would think that was the seat you are getting but no, you just give it to the person in the box office. I got there at around 5 this morning and was fourth in line. At about 7, the 20th person got in line

Sorry for all the questions about this but I'm slightly confused since I haven't experienced this. I had heard tell of a line monitor but didn't know the details.
What is the purpose of the piece of paper then? Once the monitor gives out all the pieces then that means all the tickets have been accounted for and the rest of the line can leave? What time does he hand them out?
It seems that if you already have a slip of paper then you could just leave and come back at 10 which is why I'm confused.

Posted: 7/16/13 at 12:59pmFrom what I understand, the slips only occur on two show days to designate who is going to the matinee vs. who is going to the evening (hence E4 means "evening, no. 4").

Posted: 7/18/13 at 12:19am20 I believe. And yes, you should be relatively safe if you're there before 7.

The rush seats are the the last 2 seats on the far ends in Rows B,C,D =12 seats and the back of the boxes on both sides =8 total 20 seats.
EDIT: there is no row A in the rush seating because those seats were removed to make way for stairs to the stage, SO row B is front row on the sides...

Posted: 7/18/13 at 5:41pmThanks Chris. Do they sell the orchestra b,c,d row seats to the first 12 and the boxes to the last 8 or is there really no order in which they sell them?

I am not 100% sure how they sell it. It also depends on if the staff/actors are holding tickets, actor's tickets and staff tickets come out of the rush seats.
But yes, they start with row BCD but not sure if they jump to box then the other side or if they do the whole Orchestra then the boxes. I have always been there early so I have never sat anywhere but the first row (except for opening night I was in the wonderful Mezz (The BEST place to see the show ANYWHERE IN THE MEZZ).
