Well, I went to see the reprise of "Pippin" at UCLA last night and it was AMAZING! It was my first time ever seeing "Pippin" and I adored every min. of it. I have the music and I have always loved that however, to see it live and with such amazing performers made it perfect. Michael Arden was to die for and did an amazing job as usual and as for everyone else, they were all great too, but Michael tops them all! If any of you are in the LA area and can get to UCLA to see it, SEE IT! It's worth it.
Thank You! :)

Shira I am so sorry I couldn't get you a ticket, and you know what is even more frustrating? There were 2 empty seats RIGHT near us! Ugh!
CodeName I use to attend a Music Academy for high school and since I still volunteer there they take me to see shows when they get tickets and they ALWAYS get tickets to the Reprises at UCLA and we always go to the "Dress Rehersal" so we were the FIRST audience they had, it was cool and it was a great audience.

laactress, don't even think twice about it! I'm glad you got the chance to see it!
I'll see it, I'm sure. It might actually be worth a full price ticket
- which is saying a lot for me.

Posted: 1/29/05 at 11:19amYes, the Reprise production of Pippin is a winner. Sam Harris and Michael Arden are perfectly cast and perform with enormous talent and charisma. Other standouts include veteran Mimi Hines as Bertha, Broadway's Luba Mason as Frustrada, and sexy Abe Sylvia as Lewis. The crisp choreography is obviously Fosse inspired, and performed with great skill and energy by a young and hot group of dancer/singers (who put this show together with less than two weeks of rehearsals). I was able to speak with the adorable Michael at the reception after the performance and he is as lovely as I had imagined. Before I introduced myself to him, he was speaking with a hearing impared friend (using ASL, which he had most likely learned while doing Big River). Seeing him communicate with his hands added an extra depth to y perception of this talented and beautiful young man. I highly recommend Pippin (which got a rave from the L.A. Times, by the way)...if you can get a ticket! Updated On: 1/29/05 at 11:19 AM
